  • Westfield Century City is now starring on 'Extra'

    Come on down to Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, and maybe you’ll get to be on television.

    The entertainment news magazine “Extra” and Westfield, which owns and operates 38 shopping centers nationwide, have formed a partnership to deliver fashion, lifestyle and celebrity news and features to television audiences from Westfield Century City.

  • Euclid: March retail performance lags year-over-year

    Santa Barbara, Calif. – Shopper activity rebounded in March 2014 from the prior month, but traffic and engagement lagged compared to March 2013. In-store retail analytics provider Euclid, released its monthly retail benchmarks report to analyze shopper activity and behavior during the month of March, measuring data from tens of millions of domestic shopping sessions.

  • Home Depot named EPA Energy Star partner of the year

    Atlanta -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named The Home Depot as a 2014 Energy Star Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through promotion of energy-efficient products. The Home Depot, an Energy Star partner since 2001, will be honored for its leadership in its long-term commitment to energy efficiency through promotion of energy-efficient products that earn the Energy Star, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency.

  • Retail imports to grow 6.1% in April

    Washington, D.C. -- Import volume at major U.S. retail container ports is expected to increase 6.1% in April 2014, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report released by the National Retail Federation (NRF) and Hackett Associates. U.S. ports followed by Global Port Tracker handled 1.26 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEU) in February 2014, the latest month for which after-the-fact numbers are available.

  • Interbrand report: Walmart most valuable retail brand in the world

    Dayton, Ohio – Walmart is the most valuable retail brand in North America, with a brand value estimated at $131.8 billion, according to Interbrand's "Best Retail Brands" report. The retail powerhouse maintains its number one spot and, even with a 6% decline in brand value, it retains an enormous margin over its closest competitor Target, whose brand value is put at $27.1 billion, an 8% increase over 2013.

  • Paragon Software introduces home delivery system in U.S.

    Dallas – Paragon Software Systems Inc., a provider of vehicle routing and scheduling optimization solutions, is introducing Paragon HDS (Home Delivery System) to the U.S. market. Paragon HDS is designed to enable home delivery and home service companies to offer more accurate delivery times while improving fleet efficiency.

  • Alameda, Calif., center welcomes two eateries

    Alameda, Calif. — Bagel Street Café and The Best Lil’ Porkhouse have signed into South Shore Center on the waterfront in Alameda, Calif. Jamestown, a national real estate investment and management firm, owns the center.

    Bagel Street Café has signed a 10-year lease for 2,323 sq. ft. and plans to open this summer. SRS Real Estate Partners represented Bagel Street.

    The Best Lil’ Porkhouse signed a 10-year lease for 3,639 sq. ft.

  • CVS to pay $20 million to settle SEC charges

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS Caremark Corp. agreed to pay $20 million to settle U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charges that it misled investors in 2009 during a debt offering and by accounting improperly for an acquisition.

    The SEC said CVS failed to disclose while marketing $1.5 billion of bonds in September 2009 having recently lost significant Medicare and contract revenue streams in its pharmacy benefits manager business.
