  • Plaza Hermosa adds state-of-the-art medical facility as part of improvements

    Hermosa Beach, California — Regency Centers announced that Torrance Memorial and Hermosa Beach Fish Shop will open at Plaza Hermosa. Torrance Memorial’s new facility is slated to open this fall and will specialize in primary care and pediatrics. 

  • NRF hires senior policy counsel; names VP of government relations

    Washington, D.C. - The National Retail Federation (NRF) has hired Paul G. Martino as VP and senior policy counsel, and promoted Beth Provenzano to VP for federal government relations. Martino and Provenzano will work with the NRF Government Relations Department and focus on emerging public policy priorities, including data security, payments, mobile and e-commerce, privacy and patent reform.

  • Hilltown Crossings to undergo major redevelopment, Burlington to open

    Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania — Wolfson Group will launch a redevelopment of Hilltown Crossings, a community shopping center with a gross leasable area of 354,458 sq. ft., located on Route 309 at Orvilla Road in Hatfield, Pennsylvania.

  • Bebe taps Qubit to drive online sales with a personal touch

    New York -- Women’s apparel retailer Bebe has selected digital experience management platform provider Qubit to provide a wide reaching and bespoke A/B testing, website optimization and personalization program designed to increase conversion rates.

    While Bebe retains a strong physical store presence in prime locations globally, the retailer is now looking to establish itself as an ecommerce market leader by honing its online and mobile strategy — a plan that will kick off with the launch of a new responsive mobile site in the coming weeks.

  • Glimcher names VP of development

    Columbus, Ohio — Glimcher Realty Trust has appointed Kenneth Marshall to the role of VP, Development. In this position, Marshall will support the company’s development strategy, contributing to the leadership and implementation of redevelopment projects throughout the portfolio.

    Prior to joining Glimcher, Marshall served as executive VP of the Commercial Division of Colonial Properties Trust (now MAA). In addition, he has served as VP and Regional Development Director for The Westfield Corp.

  • ShopperTrak survey: Understanding consumer behavior top retailer challenge

    Chicago – Understanding shopping and buying behavior is the most common challenge facing retailers. According to a survey of nearly 200 retailers, executives, financial analysts, industry analysts and university academics at the recent ShopperTrak users group conference, 44% of attendees reported that understanding consumer behavior in-store is currently their biggest challenge.

  • La-Z-Boy names president of retail segment

    Monroe, Mich. -- La-Z-Boy Inc. announced the promotion of Daniel King to president of the company's retail Segment. He has served as VP of La-Z-Boy's retail operations since July of 2011.

    In his new role as President, King will be responsible for all facets of the company-owned La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores, including sales, store operations, training and merchandising functions. The company owns 101 of the 315 stores and, in fiscal 2014 the segment recorded approximately $300 million in sales.

  • Mansour Group arranges sale of southern California Stein Mart building

    La Quinta, California —The Mansour Group has announced the sale of a 36,000-sq.-ft. Stein Mart building located in La Quinta, California. Sale price was approximately $8 million. 

    The property was sold via Mansour Group by an unnamed developer to a private, all-cash investor out of San Diego.

    The freestanding building is situated in Washington Park, a 600,000-sq.-ft. power and lifestyle center anchored by Lowe’s, Target, Cost Plus, Office Depot, Trader Joe’s with plans for additional construction.
