  • Royal Properties inks three Orange County, N.Y., deals

    New York -- Royal Properties has announced three lease signings in Orange County, N.Y. — two with Miracle Ear and one with Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts.

    Miracle Ear has signed a seven-year lease with a five-year option for 1,500 sq. ft. at Wallkill Plaza in Middletown. Royal Properties and Rand Commercial Services were the brokers in the transaction. Wallkill’s co-tenants include Big Lots, Ashley Furniture, Hobby Lobby, Papa John’s, Texas Roadhouse and Boston Market.

  • CVS opens MinuteClinics in Southeastern North Carolina

    Woonsocket, R.I. - The first MinuteClinic walk-in medical clinic in coastal Southeastern North Carolina has opened inside a CVS/pharmacy store in Wilmington. Additional clinics in Carolina Beach and Leland are expected to open in late October.  

    The Wilmington clinic is MinuteClinic's 54th in North Carolina. The clinics are open seven days a week. No appointments are required at MinuteClinic and most health insurance is accepted.

  • Howard Hughes Corp. breaks ground on South Street Seaport redevelopment

    New York -- The Howard Hughes Corp. on Thursday officially broke ground on the redevelopment of Manhattan’s South Street Seaport, with a ceremony at Pier 17.

    The redeveloped Pier 17 is expected to open in 2016, with a mix of retail, dining and entertainment options highlighted by a one and a half-acre rooftop that will include a restaurant, two outdoor bars and an amphitheater that will hold up to 4,000 people for concerts and special events.

  • PetSmart expects FY13 sales growth of 3%-4%

    Phoenix – PetSmart Inc. has issued guidance for fiscal year 2013 for total sales growth of 3%-4%, as well as same-store sales growth of 3%-4%, compared to the prior fiscal year. PetSmart also slightly downgraded previous same-store sales guidance for the third quarter of fiscal 2013 to 2.2%-2.5%, from previously issued guidance of 3%-4%.

  • Lowe’s launches natural gas-powered truck fleet at Texas distribution center

    Mooresville, N.C. -- Lowe's has launched a dedicated fleet of natural gas-powered trucks at its regional distribution center in Mount Vernon, Texas. The fleet is among the first serving a major retail distribution center in North America to run solely on natural gas.

    With the transition from a diesel-fueled fleet to trucks powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), Lowe's expects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions nearly 20%  and control fuel costs as it transports up to 68 truckloads each day to stores in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

  • Shopping center in Texas changes hands

    Houston - Transwestern has completed the sale of Hannover Commons Shopping Center in Spring, Texas. After leasing the newly constructed 10,020-sq.-ft. shopping center to 100% occupancy, Transwestern represented the seller, Hannover Woods Retail Partners LLC, in the disposition of the asset to a local investor.

  • Spend less, build more is Walmart’s new slogan

    Walmart said its worldwide capital expenditure budget for the 2014 will range between $11.8 billion and $12.8 billion, roughly $200 million less than the company expects to spend during the current year, even as it adds more selling space.

  • Rent the Runway opens innovative in-store shop at Henri Bendel

    New York -- Rent the Runway, the popular online retailer specializing in rentals of designer dresses and accessories, has entered into its first brick-and-mortar partnership, opening a 1,400-sq.-ft. showroom in the Henri Bendel Fifth Avenue flagship store in Manhattan.
