  • Whole Foods to take Instacart partnership to new level

    Whole Foods Market has been offering deliveries via Instacart in select markets for about a year, but reportedly is significantly extending the scope of the deal.

    According to Re/code, Whole Foods has at least in principle made an unspecified investment in Instacart. Whole Foods has also reportedly signed a five-year deal making Instacart its exclusive perishables delivery provider.

    For the fourth quarter ended Jan. 30, same-store sales at Target increased 1.9%, driven by traffic growth of 1.3%. This is Target's sixth consecutive quarter of rising same store sales.

    Whole Foods Market’s knack for recycling and showcasing local memorabilia is reflected in its just-opened store in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

    The 47,500-sq.-ft supermarket features a reclaimed bowling alley wood cladding at the juice bar. (Milwaukee is home to the oldest certified bowling alley in the United States.) A firefly motif is incorporated throughout the space, which was constructed by Chicago-based Novak Construction. (Wauwatosa is named after the Native-American Potawatomi tribe’s word for firefly.)

Nordstrom.com received a top score of 86.75. Websites are scored on a 100-point scale based on an assessment of metrics from five key pages, presence and execution of vital merchandising tactics, and exemplary customer service.

  • Instacart expands options for Boston customers

    Boston has long been known as a town that likes to imbibe now and then, and online grocery delivery service Instacart is helping to spread the cheer.

    Instacart is partnering with local omnichannel liquor retailer Vinodivino to offer Boston customers same-day delivery of wine, liquor, and beer. Vinodivino is now part of the Instacart marketplace, meaning Boston residents can order alcohol online from Vinodivino through the Instacart site or app and get alcohol delivered in as little as one hour.
