    Middletown, N.Y. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 56,491-sq.-ft. Hobby Lobby recently opened at Fairview Corners, located in Middletown, N.Y.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Wallkill Plaza.

    Target is out with a beast of a holiday toy catalog that weigha in at 52 glossy pages that employs a variety of incentives to promote sales in advance of Thanksgiving weekend. Nothing unusual about that or the fact that the publication features all sorts of cool products and high quality photography that is sure to have kids drooling if parents make the mistake of leaving the thing lying around.

  • Target announces free shipping for online purchases made with REDcard

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. is adding a new benefit to its REDcard Rewards loyalty program: free shipping on Target.com purchases when guests use their REDcards. In addition, for the first time Target Debit Cards can be used on Target.com.

    Target’s REDcard Rewards loyalty program applies to the Target REDcards, including the Target Credit Card, Target Visa Credit Card and Target Debit Card. The program offers guests an extra 5% off Target’s already prices on nearly all items purchased in stores and online when they use a REDcard.

  • Four stores to close by end of year

    Target said it plans to close stores in Broomfield, Colo., Raleigh, N.C., Orlando and Portland by the end of its fiscal year in late January.

    New York City -- Target Corp. is in a class by itself when it comes to gift cards, offering a broad selection to suit all ages. In fact, the cards are so unusual that the retailer patents them, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Journal.

  • Sabre Real Estate names execs

    Garden City, N.J. -- Sabre Real Estate Group said that Beth Lamport has joined the firm as executive VP.

    Previously a director at Breslin Realty, Lamport also was a broker at Polimeni Realty and spent more 20 years as a marketing executive at Federal Department Stores, which owned Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Filene’s and Stern’s and now is known as Macy’s Inc.

  • Fresh & Easy debuts smaller Express format

    New York City -- Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, the U.S. division of Tesco, has opened its first Fresh & Easy Express store, at La Cienega Boulevard and 18th Street in Los Angeles.

    The new format is approximately 3,000 sq. ft. versus the 10,000-sq.-ft. footprint of a standard Fresh & Easy. It features an edited selection of some 2,700 SKUs, including fresh foods, baked items, groceries, and health and beauty items.
