  • Jones Lang LaSalle brokers Tifton Corners sale

    Atlanta -- Jones Lang LaSalle has announced that it has closed the sale of Tifton Corners in Tifton, Ga., to Tifton Retail. JLL represented RCG Ventures in the transaction.

    Anchors at the 186,629-sq.-ft. Tifton Corners include Big Lots, Save A Lot, Tractor Supply Co., Dollar Tree, Citi Trends and Hibbett Sports. The property is currently 84% leased.

    JLL noted that Tifton is near I-75, a major north-south interstate, in south central Ga., two hours north of Tallahassee and three hours south of Atlanta.

    A lot of buzz this week about Amazon expanding a long-running grocery delivery program in its hometown of Seattle to the Los Angeles area and what it might mean for food retailers. The answer for now is, not much.

  • Stein Mart’s May sales rise

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Linens and ladies’ casual and career sportswear buoyed Stein Mart’s total sales for May. The company reported total sales of $107.3 million for the month, an increase of 3.6% from $103.6 million for May last year. 

    Comparable store sales increased 8.2%.

  • Tucker Development is bringing ShopRite to Springfield Avenue Marketplace

    Newark, N.J. -- Tucker Development Corp. has signed a deal with Wakefern Food Corp. retail cooperative to bring a 67,000-sq.-ft. ShopRite grocery store to Springfield Avenue Marketplace in Newark, N.J.

    Wakefern is the merchandising and distribution arm for ShopRite stores.

    The new ShopRite will anchor the 125,000-sq.-ft. center set to break ground this fall. When complete, the center will serve approximately 280,000 Newark residents, 180,000 employees and 60,000 college students and faculty.

  • Ulta Beauty to open at Cumberland Mall in the fall

    Vineland, N.J. -- Ulta Beauty will open a new superstore  this fall at Cumberland Mall in Vineland, N.J. The 10,500-sq.-ft. store will feature a full-service salon as part of its offerings.

    Cumberland Mall is anchored by Boscov’s, Marshalls, J.C. Penney, Burlington Coat Factory, Michaels, Old Navy and Bed Bath & Beyond.

     

  • WP Realty acquires Plaza at the Pointe

    Bryn Mawr, Pa. -- WP Realty has acquired Plaza at the Pointe, a 149,016-sq.-ft. center located near Pittsburgh in the Parkway West retail submarket.

    Anchor tenants include Bed, Bath & Beyond, Old Navy, La-Z-Boy and Party City. An additional 21,556 sq. ft. anchor space is currently vacant.

    Latitude 40, a recently redeveloped 60,000-sq.-ft. entertainment center, and a number of national retailers shadow-anchor Plaza at the Pointe from adjacent properties.
     

  • Checking out cloud wallets

    CardinalCommerce and Unbound Commerce have rolled out a cloud wallet service for online merchants. The cloud wallet service from Unbound Commerce scheduled for release in July leverages Universal Wallet APITM from Cardinal to offer a single point connection to several leading digital wallets. 

  • Merchandising message on tap for next Wednesday

    Walmart U.S. chief merchandising and marketing officer Duncan Mac Naughton will have some explaining to do next week when he is scheduled to participate in the 33rd Annual William Blair Growth Stock Conference on Wednesday, June 12.
