  • Nordstrom to open second location in greater Austin market

    Seattle -- Nordstrom announced plans to open a full-line store at The Domain in Austin, Texas. The two-level, approximately 123,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open in fall 2016 and will be the company's second full-line store serving the greater Austin area. The Domain is owned and operated by Endeavor Real Estate Group.

  • Calgon gets a makeover

    Calgon is gearing up for spring with new scents, beauty bar soap products, revamped packaging and a new ad campaign.
     
    "We are updating Calgon in formula and design in a way that we believe will help to modernize the iconic brand, while keeping the same attributes that women love about Calgon," said Madeline Blaize, director of marketing of Parfums de Coeur. "It is important to us to offer the consumer the latest trends in beauty care while staying true to the authenticity of the 60-year-old brand."

  • Sprouts Farmers Market, Athleta among brands in expansion mode

    New York -- Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Markets Inc. is expanding. The natural-foods supermarket chain expects to open 22 to 24 stores in fiscal 2014, including five locations in the Atlanta area.

    Sprouts currently operates more than 165 locations in eight states.

    Meanwhile, Gap Inc. continues to expand its newest banner, Athleta, with about 30 additional U.S. stores on tap for fiscal year 2014.

    Four specialty issues created exclusively for General Mills, in partnership with DC Entertainment (DCE) and Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), can be found in grocery retailers nationwide, with a bonus fifth issue available only in select boxes of Cheerios at Target.

    Waban, Mass. -- H.E.B. Grocery, Trader Joe's, Chick-fil-A, and Publix earned the highest scores in the 2014 Temkin Experience Ratings, which ranked 268 companies across 19 industries. Joining those firms in the top 14 spots are Aldi, Food Lion, Sonic Drive-In, credit unions, Dairy Queen, Kroger, Piggly Wiggly, Regions, Sam's Club, and Starbucks.
