    New York -- David Yurman, a fine jewelry and timepiece designer, has opened a store at Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park, Calif.

    Conceptualized by architectural firm of Gabellini Sheppard Associates, the flowing 1,403-sq.-ft. store features classically modern architecture. Every element of the interior reflects the brand's luxurious yet relaxed aesthetic.

  • Report: FBI warns of more retail data breaches

    Washington, D.C. – The FBI has reportedly issued a confidential report to U.S. retailers warning that more cyber attacks like the ones recently suffered by Target and Neiman Marcus will occur. According to Reuters, the three-page report was distributed Jan. 17 and informs retailers that the FBI has discovered in the past year there have been at least 20 attacks using the same type of malware used against Target.

  • Mid-America brokers four leases across Illinios

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. — Mid-America Asset Management Inc. has announced four retail leases with retailers planning to open in the spring. Mid-America represented the landlord in each transaction.

    DSW has taken 11,833 sq. ft. in Oakland Place, a 155,730-sq.-ft. center in DeKalb, Ill. Michaels and T.J.Maxx anchor the center. A Super Target shadow anchors. Tartan Realty Group represented DSW.

  • Hudson’s Bay, Lord & Taylor launch app integrating traditional media and m-commerce

    Toronto -- The HBC Department Store Group announced the launch of a new mobile shopping application for both its Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor divisions that allows customers to instantly buy products seen in print by simply scanning an image.

    HBC is partnering with Pounce, a mobile app that turns static print ads into instant digital storefronts by enabling customers to scan product images and complete a purchase in less than 30 seconds. It provides a secure, one-tap checkout, integrating with the retailer’s existing e-commerce system

  • Kmart to close two Philadelphia stores

    New York -- Kmart will shutter two locations in the Philadelphia area this spring, Philadelphia Business Journal said. The locations, at The Gallery and at 900 Orthodox St., will close in late April.
