  • Bath & Body Works to join Legends Outlets Kansas City

    Kansas City, Kansas -- Bath & Body Works will open a 3,010-sq.-ft. store at designer outlet Legends Outlets Kansas City on Aug. 4.

    Bath & Body Works will occupy the space next to Ann Taylor Factory Store by the Civic Courtyard Fountain.  

    Other recent additions at Legends Outlets Kansas City include the only area Pizza Studio, Woody’s Automotive concept, Nail Envy spa and the Coach Factory pop-up location.
     

     

  • P.S. From Aeropostale launches brand in Mexico, 100 stores on tap

    New York -- Aeropostale, Inc. will roll out its P.S. from Aeropostale brand in Mexico through a licensing partnership with Distribuidora Liverpool, S.A. de C.V.  

    P.S. from Aeropostale's expansion plans in Mexico include the opening of branded in-store shops in Liverpool department stores, as well as standalone stores, across Mexico beginning in summer 2014. The first store opened in July at Sante Fe Mall in Mexico City.

  • Can Christine Lee fix what ails Wet Seal?

    The Wet Seal named Christine Lee EVP and chief merchandising officer, as the retailer of young women’s apparel looks to regain its appeal with core shoppers and reverse several quarters’ worth of double-digit same-store sales declines.

    Lee will join Wet Seal on September 3 and in her new role report to company CEO John Goodman. Lee previously served as SVP and general merchandise manager at Pacific Sunwear since 2010. Prior to Pac-Sun, she spent 18 years with Urban Outfitters where she began her career as a sales associate.

  • Bon-Ton names Belk exec to CEO slot

    York, Pa. -- The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. announced the appointment of Kathryn Bufano to the position of president and CEO, effective Aug. 25. Bufano has served as the president and chief merchandising officer of Belk Inc. since 2010.

    Bufano replaces outgoing president and CEO Brendan Hoffman, who announced his resignation.

  • Bon Ton names finance expert to board

    York, Pa. -- Daniel T. Motulsky has been named to the board of directors of The Bon Ton Stores Inc., effective Aug. 1. Motulsky, 52, was a managing director and global head of consumer & retail of financial advisory and asset management firm Lazard from 2000 to June 2014, having joined the firm in 1998.

  • Nordstrom to acquire online menswear retailer Trunk Club

    Seattle – Nordstrom has entered into an agreement to acquire Trunk Club, a personalized clothing service for men. Trunk Club's 250 personal stylists build one-to-one relationships with their members to understand their lifestyles and styling preferences before hand-selecting merchandise that is then shipped to the customer.

    Customers keep what they like and return the rest for free. There is no membership fee, no obligations and no commitments.

  • Bon-Ton bolsters board

    The Bon-Ton Stores has elected Daniel T. Motulsky to its board of directors.

    Motulsky was a managing director and global head of consumer & retail of Lazard from 2000 to June 2014, having joined the firm in 1998. Lazard is a global financial advisory and asset management firm that engages in investment banking, asset management and other financial services primarily with institutional clients.

  • Belk promotes David Zant to president and chief merchandising officer

    Charlotte, N.C. -- Following the resignation of president and chief merchandising officer Kathryn Bufano to take the CEO slot at Bon-Ton, Belk has promoted David Zant as its replacement, effective Aug. 11.

    Zant, who will report to Tim Belk, chairman and CEO, has served as Belk’s executive VP and general merchandising manager of men’s, home and kids since 2008.
