  • Study: QVC tops in mobile customer experience

    Chicago – QVC received top ranking in the Mobile Customer Experience Index from The E-tailing Group. QVC scored 84.17 on a 100-point scale, with the average score being 71.5.

  • Ann Inc. under pressure to sell

    New York – Ann Inc. is being urged to explore options, including a sale, by activist investor Engine Capital and Red Alder. The two firms, who collectively own more than 1% of the outstanding shares of Ann Inc., are publicly urging the company to sell at a substantial premium above current stock price.

  • Ann Q2 profit down; cuts full-year outlook

    New York -- Ann Inc. on Friday reported earnings of $32.7 million in its fiscal second quarter, down from $35.6 million in the second quarter of 2013. Its results were in line Wall Street expectations. Looking ahead, the company forecast revenue for the third quarter below Street estimates and also lowered its revenue outlook for fiscal 2014.

    Total net sales for quarter were $648.7 million, compared with net sales of $638.2 million in the year ago period.

  • Aeropostale posts Q2 loss; projects wider loss for current quarter

    New York -- Aeropostale Inc. on Thursday reported a second-quarter loss that was less than the Wall Street expected. It also forecast a bigger-than-expected loss for the current quarter.
     
    Aeropostale, which has lost money for seven consecutive quarters, reported a net loss for the second quarter of fiscal 2014 of $63.8 million, compared to a loss of $33.7 million in the year-ago period.

  • Saks to anchor new center in Miami

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue will open a three-level, 107,000-sq.-ft. store in Brickell City Centre, Miami.

    The store, scheduled to open in fall 2016, will help anchor the mixed-use development, which is currently under construction. The project includes residential, office and hotel space, along with a 565,000-sq.-ft. shopping center.

  • Nordstrom completes acquisition of Trunk Club

    Seattle -- Nordstrom announced today the closing of its acquisition of Trunk Club, a leading personalized clothing service for men.
     
    The company previously announced its proposed acquisition of Trunk Club by press release on July 31.

  • PetSmart to open at Dadeland Station

    Miami -- Berkowitz Development Group announced the signing of a new long-term lease with PetSmart for 14,252 sq. ft. at Dadeland Station, a 330,000-sq.-ft. shopping center located at 8312 S Dixie Highway in Miami.

    The new PetSmart store, which will include an on-site, full-service Banfield Pet Hospital, is slated to open during fourth quarter 2014.

    Current tenants include Target, Michael’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, The Sport’s Authority and Best Buy.

     

  • Five Below to open its first Brooklyn store

    Philadelphia -- Extreme-value retailer Five Below will open its first Brooklyn location on Aug. 29, at the Gateway Center.

    The 7,500-sq.-ft. store location will feature the company's signature format, with all merchandise priced at $5 and below and grouped into one of eight store departments: Style, Room, Sports, Tech, Crafts, Party, Candy and Now.

    Five Below plans to open additional stores in Brooklyn in the next few years.
