  • Aeropostale to open two concepts at South Bay Galleria

    South Bay, Calif. -- South Bay Galleria marketing manager Sherilyn Haddon announced that the Los Angeles County mall will add three new stores to its list of retailers, including Aeropostale and P.S. From Aeropostale.

    Tutti Frutti yogurt will also open at the mall.

    The P.S. From Aeropostale store will be directly connected to the new Aeropostale store; both are slated to open in May 2013. Tutti Frutti is expected to open at Center Court in March 2013.
     

  • J.C. Penney sets mid-March launch of Joe Fresh shops

    Plano, Texas -- J.C. Penney Co. announced that Canada’s Joe Fresh brand will launch in J.C. Penney stores beginning March 15, with a collection of modern basics for women. The collection will be displayed in 750-sq.-ft. to 2,500-sq.-ft. dedicated shops in nearly 700 JCP stores.
     

  • Children’s Place to open at Blue Star shopping center

    Watchung, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that The Children’s Place will join the tenant roster at Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung, N.J., this spring.

    Levin is the property’s managing and leasing agent.

    Children’s Place leased 4,307 sq. ft. at the 419,000-sq.-ft. property, and will join other children’s retailers Toys “R” Us, Becker’s School Supplies and GameStop at the center, as well as Kohl's, ShopRite, Michaels and Marshalls, among others.

  • CSA conference debuts real estate track; Container Store, Starbucks, Macy’s among retail speakers

    New York -- The SPECS conference, presented each year by Chain Store Age, will debut a real estate track as part of the 49th annual event. Held in Dallas from March 17 to March 20 at the Hilton Anatole, SPECS will feature real estate workshops designed toward educating and informing the retail development executives who attend the SPECS conference.

  • Michael Kors to sell 3 million shares

    New York -- As shares of his company reached an all-time high, fashion designer and retailer Michael Kors will sell 3 million of his shares as part of a secondary offering of 25 million shares, according to a Tuesday regulatory filing.

    Kors' ownership in Michael Kors Holdings Inc. will fall to about 4.8 million shares, or 2.4%, down from 3.9% after the sale.

  • Foot Locker names Build-A-Bear Workshop chief to board

    New York -- Foot Locker announced Wednesday that it has appointed Maxine Clarke, recently retired Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO, as a member of its board of directors.

    Clark has also served as president of Payless ShoeSource, and spent 19 years as an executive with May Department Stores Co.
