  • Brooks Brothers names exec VP of global human resources

    New York -- Brooks Brothers today announced that Mary Pytko has joined the company as its new executive VP of global human resources.

    Pytko has held leadership roles at companies including American Express and Lord & Taylor. Most recently she was senior VP, human resources at the Thomson Reuters Corporation.

  • Lane Bryant announces three new stores, one relocation

    New York -- Lane Bryant has announced the opening of three new stores and one relocation of an existing store.

    The specialty apparel retailer plans to open a new store in the Miracle Mile Shopping Center in Monroeville, Pa., on Oct. 25, with the grand opening running through the weekend.

    Lane Bryant also plans to open a new store at Rushmore Crossing in Rapid City, S.D. on Oct. 25, with the grand opening continuing through Sunday.

  • Lane Bryant opens three new stores, relocates one unit

    Columbus, Ohio – Lane Bryant opens three new locations and a relocated store on Oct. 25. The stores are all located at shopping centers.
        
    The new stores are located at Miracle Mile Shopping Center in Monroeville, Pa., Rushmore Shopping Center in Rapid City, S.D., and Commons at Magnolia in Florence, S.C. Lane Bryant also opens a relocated store outside of The Promenade at Millcreek Mall in Erie, Penn. on Oct. 25.

     

  • Wealthiest consumers’ holiday spending put at $2,175 per household

    Atlanta -- Among the affluent households, the average expenditure for December holiday gifts in 2013 is estimated to be $2,175 down 2.8% from 2012, according to a new survey of the wealthiest 10% of U.S. households by the American Affluence Research Center. However, affluent households spent in 2012 almost 7% more than they had anticipated in the 2012 survey, supporting the premise that people often tend to spend more for gifts than they had planned.
     

  • Lands’ End opens Chicago-area store

    Dodgeville, Wis. — Lands’ End has announced the opening of its first standalone store within a shopping mall — in the Yorktown Center Mall in Lombard, Ill., a Chicago suburb.

    The store is slated to open on Nov. 15. For each sale made during the Grand Opening Event, the store will donate $50 to the Glen Ellyn food Pantry for a Thanksgiving Food Box meal.

  • Saks to open renovated in-store men’s store in Boca Raton, Fla.

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue is set to unveil a newly renovated men’s store at its Boca Raton, Fla., location in the Town Center at Boca Raton on Nov. 20.

    The renovations focus on several enhancements, including six new dedicated vendor shops from Corneliani, Dolce & Gabbana, Ermenegildo Zegna, Armani Collezioni, Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren Black Label, plus a denim shop and a new space for the exclusive Saks Fifth Avenue Men’s Collection.

  • Mansour brokers sale of Pet Smart and TJ Maxx

    Louisville, Ky. — The Mansour Group has announced the sale of Pet Smart and TJ Maxx, a 49,410-sq.-ft. retail box on an outparcel located in a 218,000-sq.-ft. shopping center owned by Weingarten. The seller was a national real estate advisory group and the buyer was a private investor.

     The offering is part of a large portfolio of similar former Service Merchandise assets — all exclusively listed by The Mansour Group.

     

  • Former Sears Canada CEO named chief executive of Sephora Americas

    New York -- Sephora announced Thursday that Calvin McDonald has been named president and CEO of Sephora Americas, effective Jan. 1, 2014.

    McDonald, who previously served as president and CEO of Sears Canada, succeeds David Suliteanu.

    Suliteanu, who has helmed Sephora Americas since July 2000, will become CEO of Kendo Brands, which is owned by Sephora's parent, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA.
