  • Target serves up exclusive collection to 'Hunger Games' fans

    MINNEAPOLIS — "Hunger Game" fans will hope the "odds be ever in their favor" to get their hands on special collection keepsakes and an exclusive three-disc version of the blockbuster film. These premium items range from $349 to $999 – Target’s first-ever licensed product offering at this price point – and will be introduced one per day beginning on Aug. 18 to coincide with the DVD release.

  • In line and on track, Target likes 2Q

    MINNEAPOLIS — July same-store sales at Target increased 3.1%, in line with the company’s guidance.

    Target credited an increase in average transaction size as the primary driver of a 3.1% same-store sales increase during the July reporting period. An increase in the number of transactions also contributed to a 3.1% gain that was in-line with the company’s guidance for a low to mid single digit increase on top of a July 2011 increase of 4.1%.

  • Cherry Hill Mall, Cherry Hill, N.J.

    South Jersey’s first Henri Bendel has opened at Cherry Hill Mall, located in Cherry Hill, N.J.

    The PREIT-owned property now features a 2,300-sq.-ft. Henry Bendel designer fashion boutique, joining Nordstrom, True Religion, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Guess by Marciano, and more.

    “As South Jersey’s fashion destination, Cherry Hill Mall continues to welcome venerable style icons to the property,” said Lisa Wolstromer, Cherry Hill Mall senior marketing director.

  • Mariana Antinori’s to open on Upper East Side

    New York -- Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group said that Italian accessories retailer Mariana Antinori will open a luxury store – the brand’s first in New York -- at 1242 Madison Avenue, between 89th and 90th Streets.

    Nearby are Jacadi, Rachel Riley, Baby Cottons and Brooks Brothers, as well as Armani Jr., Robert Marc, Christopher Fischer Cashmere, Malia Mills and Pink Chicken 'Tween.
     

  • Poor comps, expenses widen loss at Hhgregg

    INDIANAPOLIS — Hhgregg's first quarter loss widened to $5.7 million, or 16 cents per diluted share, from a loss of $0.8 million, or 2 cents per diluted share, for the comparable prior year period, thanks to same-store sales decline of 5.1% and increased expenses.

  • Jones Lang LaSalle to lease/manage Centre at Glen Burnie

    Glen Burnie, Md. -- Jones Lang LaSalle said that it has been awarded the leasing and management of Centre at Glen Burnie, a 419,858-sq.-ft. retail center located in Glen Burnie, Md.

    Developed in 1963, the Centre at Glen Burnie is 85% leased and anchored by Target, Hhgregg, Office Depot, Dick's Sporting Goods and Toys R Us.  Other tenants include Chick-fil-A, FootLocker, GNC, Payless ShoeSource, Radio Shack, Five Guys, Famous Footwear and Dots.
     

  • Big Lots to anchor Bayshore Plaza

    Barnegat, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that Big Lots is slated to open a new anchor store at Bayshore Plaza in Barnegat, N.J., in August.

    The 31,612-sq.-ft. store will fill a space formerly occupied by A&P.

    Additional tenants include McDonald’s, AT&T Wireless, Barnegat Pharmacy, and a mix of local restaurants and services.

    Levin serves as leasing and managing agent for Bayshore Plaza.
