  • Sleepy’s taps Demandware cloud commerce platform

    Burlington, Mass. -- Sleepy’s, one of the nation’s leading mattress retailers,  has deployed  a cloud commerce platform as the backbone of its digital operations. The company has launched new web and mobile commerce sites new web and mobile commerce sites on the Demandware platform. Sleepy's switched from an on-premise platform to Demandware's cloud solution as part of a strategic move to advance its omni-channel initiatives and provide consumers with consistent experiences across all channels, including web, mobile and the physical store.

  • Google Glass in partnership with Luxottixa

    New York -- Italian eyewear maker Luxottica Group SpA has entered into an agreement to design, develop and distribute glasses based on Google's Internet-connected Glass eyewear.

    Luxottica said that its two major brands, Ray-Ban and Oakley, would be part of the deal. No financial terms were discussed.

    GameStop has launched the GameStop Technology Institute (GTI), a new business unit focused on creating affiliations with leading technology corporations and academic institutions to discover and deliver business innovation and technology solutions “to better address the needs of today’s empowered consumer.”

  • Cocina Mexicana to Manassas, Va., shopping center

    Manassas, Va. — Don Lencho Cocina Mexicana has opened at Manassas Shopping Center in Manassas, Va., next to Xtreme Archery. This is the third Washington, D.C., area restaurant owned by the husband and wife team of Juarez and Karen Barroso. The couple also owns Guajillo in Arlington, Va., and Casa Oaxaca in Adams Morgan in Washington, D.C.

    The Manassas Shopping Center retail store line-up includes Peebles, Hancock Fabrics, Advance Auto Parts, Tony’s New York Pizza and the Manassas School of Dance.

    Fort Worth, Texas -- RadioShack has opened its latest Manhattan concept store. The newly remodeled store is one of more than a dozen concept stores to open in Manhattan since RadioShack debuted the company's first concept store in July 2013.

    Fort Worth, Texas — RadioShack has opened the company’s second California concept store in Sun Valley. RadioShack has been part of the Sun Valley community since opening in 1982. The new concept store has moved to a new location in Canyon Plaza.
