  • JCPenney completes new $1.25 billion credit facility

    PLANO, Texas -- JCPenney has completed a new five-year $1.25 billion bank credit facility.

    The new facility replaces a $750 million credit facility that was scheduled to mature in April 2012 and provides further strength to the company's liquidity position. The facility may be used for general corporate purposes and will mature in April 2016.

  • HomeGoods, Petco to open at Granada Hills

    Granada Hills, Calif. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers announced that it has leased nearly 39,000 sq. ft. of retail space in Granada Hills, Calif., at Granada Village to two additional anchors, HomeGoods and Petco.

    HomeGoods has leased 27,500 sq. ft. and is slated to open in spring 2012. This is the first store in the market for this home furnishings retailer with the next closest location eight miles away.

    Petco is scheduled to open in 11,350 sq. ft. this fall.

  • America’s Mattress to open at Sherwood Market Center

    Sherwood, Ore. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space to America’s Mattress, which will open a 5,200-sq.-ft. location at Sherwood Market Center, located in Sherwood, Ore.

    The new store, slated to open this summer, will bring the center to 98% leased.

    The 124,000-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Albertsons, alongside national retailers Supercuts, Baskin Robbins, Massage Envy, Snap Fitness, Chase Bank and GNC.

  • Target in Canadian court over trademark dispute

    New York City -- Target Corp. was due in court in Canada on Monday in an attempt to win exclusive right to use its name in Canada, the Wall Street Journal reported.

    Target is asking the court to impose a preliminary injunction against Canadian retailer Isaac Benitah and his company, Fairweather, which owns 15 stores across Canada called Target Apparel and has a logo similar to that of Target Corp, the report said.

  • REI to make South Carolina debut this fall

    Greenville, S.C. -- Seattle-based Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) announced it will open its first store in South Carolina this fall, in Greenville.

    The one-story, 22,000-sq.-ft. store will also feature a community space for REI and its local partners to hold outdoor-related classes, presentations and events.

  • Pita Pit, Yolicious to open at Orchards Market Center, Phase II

    Vancouver, Wash. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space to Pita Pit and Yolicous, which will open in a 2,032-sq.-ft. space this summer at Orchard Market Center, Phase II, located in Vancouver, Wash.

    The 178,000-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Wholesale Sports and LA Fitness, alongside national retailers such as Jo-Ann, Office Depot, Petco and Starbucks.

  • Foot Locker powers up mobile commerce sites

    New York City -- Foot Locker has unveiled upgraded mobile commerce sites for each of its athletic footwear retail banners -- Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Footaction, Champs Sports and CCS -- with added functionality and enhancements to provide customers with a seamless and optimal cross channel experience.

    In addition, the company is introducing mobile sites for its Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, and Footaction retail divisions.

  • Levi's taps former Coach exec for VP design role

    San Francisco -- Levi's announced that it has named Walker MacWilliam as its new global head of men's design. As VP design for the Levi's brand, MacWilliam will be responsible for the design and development of all Levi's men's product categories globally.

    MacWilliam joins Levi Strauss & Co. from Coach where his responsibilities included the conceptualization, design and development for all categories of men's and women's including wearables, bags and accessories.
