  • New promotions announced at Crocs

    NIWOT, Colo. — Casual footwear brand, Crocs, has announced that Dale Bathum has been appointed chief product officer, Mike DeBell has been named chief sales officer and Doug Hayes has taken the role of president of the Americas market. As chief product officer, Bathum will be responsible for overseeing ideation, design, development and introduction of Crocs products to the international marketplace, while DeBell will lead all Crocs global sales offices and direct-to-consumer sales in the role of chief sales officer.

  • DSW awarded $7.2 million for credit card breach

    Columbus, Ohio -- DSW Inc. said Thursday that it has been awarded $7.2 million as a result of litigation with its insurance carrier stemming from its credit card data breach in 2005.

    The $7.2 million award represents damages plus accrued interest.

    In other news, DSW has declared a special dividend totaling $91 million to be paid on Oct. 26 to shareholders. According to president and CEO Mike MacDonald, the special distribution, which is in addition to the regular dividend, represents “significant cash flow generation.”

  • City Sports names CEO

    Boston -- City Sports said Wednesday it has named Edward Albertian as president and CEO of the 21-store chain.

    Albertian joins the company from Trans National Group, where he was president and CEO. He has also served as senior VP retail operations at Staples.

    Albertian's appointment follows the departure of City Sports’ previous president and CEO Jeff Connor, who resigned last month.

     

  • Jones Group names senior Coach exec as divisional president

    New York -- The Jones Group Inc. said Wednesday it has appointed Kathy Nedorostek to the newly created position of group president, global footwear and accessories, effective mid-October.  

    In her new position, Nedorostek will oversee footwear, handbags and jewelry for Jones Group.

    Nedorostek arrives at Jones Group from Coach, where she was president of North America Wholesale and Global Licensing.

    The 21 store chain said Albertian had joined the company after serving the prior seven years as president and CEO of Trans National Group.

    NEW YORK — Brown Shoe Company has acquired the Sam & Libby brand and reunited it with its founders, Sam and Libby Edelman. For the last eight years, the brand was owned by The Jones Group.

  • iFixandRepair to open at Willow Grove Park

    Willow Grove, Pa. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said that iFixandRepair will join its Willow Grove Park, Pa., property this fall.

    The 1,077-sq.-ft. store joins other Willow Grove Park wireless electronics retailers such as AT&T, Best Buy Mobile, RadioShack, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.
