  • Sean John names Jeffrey Tweedy to top role

    NEW YORK, N.Y. — Sean John Corporate has named Jeff Tweedy as the fashion brand’s new president, effective immediately. Tweedy will report directly to Sean John chairman and founder Sean "Diddy" Combs, and will be responsible for all aspects of the company's operations, including strategic brand development, design and all the Sean John licensing and retail partners.

  • Aeropostale acquires GoJane.com

    New York -- Aeropostale announced Wednesday it has acquired online women's fashion footwear and apparel retailer GoJane.com, based in Ontario, Calif.

    The purchase of GoJane.com, which generated sales of about $19 million in 2011, is intended to beef up Aeropostale’s already growing e-commerce business.

  • Dick's Sporting Goods Q3 profit jumps 21%

    Pittsburgh -- Dick's Sporting Goods reported Tuesday that net income for the quarter ended Oct. 27 surged 21% to $50.1 million, compared with $41.5 million in the same period last year. The retailer cited strong online sales for the improved performance.

    Revenue rose 11% to $1.31 billion, just edging Wall Street’s expected $1.3 billion, and same-store sales rose 5.1%. Online sales soared 46.7% in the quarter, comprised of a 3.9% jump at namesake stores and a 2.3% increase at Golf Galaxy.
     

  • Foot Locker unveils new fitness concept store

    New York -- Foot Locker announced Tuesday the introduction of SIX:02, an elevated retail concept featuring fitness apparel and athletic footwear for women.

    The first three stores will open for the holiday season in Stamford Mall in Stamford, Conn., Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, N.J., and North Star Mall in San Antonio, Texas.

    SIX:02's concept is based on being the first-to-market design around a broad assortment of women’s athletic brands in an environment created specifically for that female customer, according to Foot Locker.

    New York -- GA Keen Realty Advisors, LLC of New York, a division of Great American Group has begun marketing leases for 150 Bakers and Wild Pair shoe store locations across the country.

  • Dick’s Sporting Goods announces three new store opening

    New York -- Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. opened three stores, including one relocated store, on Nov. 7. Of the two new stores, one was located at Stoneridge Village, Jefferson City, Mo.; and the other at Spokane Valley Mall, Spokane, Wash. The retailer relocated its N. Springboro Pike store to Dayton Mall, Dayton, Ohio.

    In October, Dick’s celebrated the opening of 17 stores throughout the United States.
