  • Judge weighs injunction against Abercrombie & Fitch over store accessibility

    Denver -- A federal judge in Denver is considering an injunction after ruling that nearly 250 Abercrombie & Fitch stores, including its namesake and Hollister banners, are unfriendly to the disabled, the Associated Press reported.

    The judge agreed in March with the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition that the stores limited access for wheelchair-bound customers.  He said the only option under the Americans With Disabilities Act is an injunction ordering the problems to be fixed, the report said.

  • Men’s Wearhouse delivers in-store experience via email

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Men’s Wearhouse is looking to CQuotient to help it develop email campaigns tailored to individual shoppers at its brick-and-mortar stores and e-commerce sites.

    The announcement comes just a week after the specialty retailer launched a revamped version of its flagship online site.

  • Cache loss widens in Q1

    New York -- Cache reported Tuesday a loss of $18.5 million for the first quarter, widened from a loss of $1.2 million in the same quarter last year. An income tax provision of $10.2 million and employee separation costs were cited as reasons for the worsened performance.

    Revenue declined 5% percent to $53.5 million from $56 million, and same-store sales dipped 1.5%.

     

  • Men’s Wearhouse redesigns website

    Fremont, Calif. -- Men’s Wearhouse is launching a redesigned e-commerce site with a number of upgraded and personalized features. These include personalized style suggestions, product filters such as size, price and color, and personalized product selections based on shopper history. The retailer is planning to offer additional new online features in the next six to eight months, such as new checkout experience, buy online and pick up in-store capabilities, and international shipping.

  • Report: Canada’s YM to buy parent company of Mandee

    New York -- Big M, owner of the Mandee, Annie Sez and Afaze apparel chains, will be sold to YM Inc., Toronto, in a $22.5 million deal expected to be approved by a bankruptcy judge next week, The Record reported.
     
    YM operates more than 600 young women’s specialty stores under a variety of banners, including Stitches, Urban Planet, Bluenotes, Siblings, and Sirens.   

  • Former Gap VP named CEO of David’s Bridal

    Conshohocken, Pa. -- David’s Bridal has named Pamela B. Wallack as CEO, effective May 28. She joins David’s Bridal from Gap Inc., where she has held senior positions since 2005.

    Wallack was the president of Gap Adult, Body and Accessories from 2010 to 2011 and the president of Gap Kids and Baby from 2005 to 2010. In 2011, she was tapped to establish and lead the Gap Global Creative Center, responsible for global design, marketing and production

  • Bebe names American Eagle exec as marketing VP

    Los Angeles -- Bebe Stores, Inc. is naming Keith Keegan as senior VP of marketing, effective May 13. Keegan will be in charge of all aspects of marketing and branding across all Bebe brands and report to CEO Steve Birkhold.

    Previously, Keegan has worked for Abercrombie and Fitch, Limited, and Express and most recently served as VP of marketing and creative director for American Eagle and the Aerie brand.
