    BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Sam's Club announced the launch of Simply Right Baby Care, which will be part of its Simply Right health and wellness brand.

    The Simply Right Baby Care line will include premium diapers, premium wipes and infant formula.

    Keurig brewed up a powerful incentive at Target this week with an ad on the cover of its weekly circular touting a $30 gift card for those who purchase the B60 Special Edition single-serve brewer from Keurig for $149.99. The offer appeared quite alluring at first because $30 would help soften the blow of purchasing a coffee maker that is fairly expensive.

  • Target strengthens ties with entertainment industry

    The beautiful people were out in force Saturday night in Southern California to party and support the fundraising efforts of the Motion Picture and Television Fund. The organization hosts an annual “Evening Before” event that precedes the Emmy Awards, which were held Sunday night and is modeled after the “Night Before” fundraiser, which precedes the Academy Awards.

  • Stein Mart names interim CEO

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Stein Mart announced the appointment of Jay Stein as interim CEO, effective immediately, following the retirement of David Stovall, Jr., who has held that position since 2008.

    "On behalf of the board, I want to thank Dave for his service to Stein Mart over the last three years, and in particular, his accomplishments in returning the Company to solid profitability," said Jay Stein, chairman of the board of Stein Mart. "We wish him many happy years of well-earned retirement."

  • Duane Reade electrifies delivery fleet

    NEW YORK, and KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Duane Reade has added Smith Electric Vehicles' Newton zero-emission, all-electric commercial trucks to its delivery fleet.

    With the addition of these medium-duty trucks, Duane Reade is the first retail pharmacy in the United States to choose fleet electrification through a pilot program with Smith Electric Vehicles, a global leader in zero-emission, all-electric commercial vehicles.

    MOORESVILLE, N.C. —  Following a disappointing second quarter and a pledge to improve going into the second half of the year, Lowe's has launched a new brand strategy to help better position itself as a market leader in home improvement retailing. The company's new tagline, "Never Stop Improving," will replace "Let's Build Something Together," in a new advertising campaign that launched Monday.

  • Food exclusive adds some secret sauce

    Exclusive arrangements with celebrities can be a good thing, as long as the right celebrity is involved. Target appeared to pick a winner last year when it tied up with Food Network celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis to launch an exclusive line. Now, Consumer Reports has confirmed that at least one of the key items in the line tastes really good.
