  • Dunkin’ Donuts in agreement to open in Vietnam

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts has signed a franchise agreement with Vietnam Food and Beverage Co. Ltd. for the development of Dunkin' Donuts restaurants across the country over the next several years, with the first locations planned for the Ho Chi Minh city area.
      
    “We are excited to partner with Vietnam Food and Beverage Co. Ltd., which has a deep knowledge of the Vietnamese consumer, to open the first Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in Vietnam,” said Giorgio Minardi, president, Dunkin' Brands International.”

  • SRS Real Estate negotiates two Miller’s Ale House leases

    New York -- SRS Real Estate Partners said Wednesday it has negotiated two leases on behalf of Miller’s Ale House. The first transaction is a ground lease located on 1.5 acres of land off of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Willow Grove, Pa. The second lease is 9,200 sq. ft. located at the Bergen Towne Center in Paramus, N.J.

    Miller’s Ale House is a 60-unit restaurant chain headquartered in Jupiter, Fla.

     

  • Future consumer trends include emphasis on human services and artisan goods

    Chicago -- Automation and mass production will continue to make life easier in the years ahead, but consumers and companies will react by valuing – and promoting – human services and artisan goods. That’s one of the key trends research firm Mintel predicts will be impacting consumer behavior in the next five to 10 years.

    As part of its lunch of Mintel Futures, a new program designed to forecast long-term industry trends, Mintel identified six key trends affecting the global consumer market in the near future:

  • NRF: Retailers unlikely to surcharge for credit card use

    Washington -- Despite some groups’ claims, the National Retail Federation said that few, if any, merchants are expected to surcharge customers for using a credit card as theoretically allowed under a controversial proposed lawsuit settlement with Visa and MasterCard being debated in the courts.

     

  • Anytime Fitness opens at Bittersweet Plaza

    Mishawaka, Ind. -- Brixmor Property Group said that Anytime Fitness has opened a 4,200-sq.-ft. facility at Bittersweet Plaza, located in Mishawaka, Ind.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Bittersweet Plaza.
     

  • New retailers and restaurants to open at LaCenterra

    Katy, Texas -- Houston-based Vista Equities Group said that a lineup of new retailers and restaurants will open at its mixed-use development in Katy: LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.
     
    Three new retailers opened for business in fourth quarter 2012, and six others have plans in place for first and second quarter openings this year. Lease locations include existing retail space in Phase I and in the new Phase II-A, currently under construction.
     

  • RKF completes retail leasing assignment at The Mark Hotel

    New York -- RKF said Tuesday it has completed the leasing assignment at the base of The Mark Hotel at 992-998 Madison Avenue on behalf of ownership Alexico Group.

    All of the hotel’s ground-floor retail space, which is located on Madison Avenue and 77th Street, is now leased.

    RKF was responsible for leases with Zadig et Voltaire, Jack Vartanian, Punto Ottico, Phoenix Roze and, more recently, 25 Park. These tenants joined Frederic Fekkai Salon, The Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges, John Lobb and Sant Ambroeus at the property.

  • Petco opens at Five Points

    Corpus Christi, Texas -- Brixmor Property Group announced Wednesday that a 12,420-sq.-ft. Petco recently opened at Five Points, located in Corpus Christi, Texas.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Five Points.
