  • Hhgregg opens Cincy store

    Indianapolis -- Hhgregg will open a new store in the Cincinnati area on Sept. 19. The new store, located at 5045 Glencrossing Way in the Western Hills section of Cincinnati, will replace the previous location at 5111 Glencrossing Way.

  • Ikea planning Kansas’ largest geothermal heating and cooling system

    Conshohocken, Pa. -- Ikea plans to incorporate the largest geothermal heating and cooling system in the state of Kansas (and neighboring Missouri) in its upcoming store in Merriam, Kan. The 359,000-sq.-ft. store is now under construction.

    The related drilling and underground work should be complete by winter, with the system operational when the building opens in fall 2014. The Ikea Merriam will be the second U.S. Ikea location with geothermal technology. (In 2011, Ikea opened a store Centennial, Col., that uses geothermal technology.)

  • Dentco names national sales manager

    Dewitt, Mich. -- Dentco, a leading exterior services management company, has appointed David Arthur to serve as its new national sales manager.

    Arthur comes to Dentco with 12 years of sales experience, which includes direct sales, product knowledge, forecasting, and vendor relation proficiency. More recently, Arthur was an architectural sales manager for six years, in which he coordinated sales for commercial jobs, negotiated pricing, and managed marketing efforts.

     

  • New York & Company selects PeopleAnswers’ human resources solution

    Dallas -- PeopleAnswers and New York & Company announced a software licensing agreement for the specialty apparel chain with more than 500 stores nationwide to use the PeopleAnswers HR-focused business solution to recommend employee candidates who can guide their customers to make smart fashion purchase decisions.

  • Hudson’s Bay appoints Harrod’s exec to run Saks

    Toronto -- Hudson’s Bay Co. (HBC) has appointed Marigay McKee, chief merchant of Harrods, as the future president of Saks Fifth Avenue. The appointment follows the news that Saks chairman and CEO Stephen Sadove and president and chief merchant Ronald Frasch will leave the company once it is acquired by Hudson's Bay.

  • Fuddruckers announces 10 new locations

    Saratoga, Calif. — Fuddruckers is expanding its footprint in Southern California through a new franchise development partnership with Keilah LLC.

    The partnership will open ten new Fuddruckers over the next several years. The first is slated to debut by early 2015.

     

  • Metro Chicago restaurant, banquet facility goes to auction

    Mokena, Ill. — Micoley.com’s Sept. 28 property auction will offer a restaurant and banquet facility in Mokena, Ill. The two-story restaurant spans 14,754 sq. ft. The site includes 162 parking spaces. Zoning allows other kinds of commercial activity.

    The property has an opening bid of $995,000, substantially lower than the initial asking price of $1,795,000. Offers are expected during the lead up to the auction. Properties such as this frequently sell ahead of their auction date.
