DSW Q4 profit increases
Columbus, Ohio -- DSW Inc. reported Tuesday that net income for the quarter ended Feb. 2 rose to $31.4 million from $23.1 million in the year-ago period. Sales for the fourth quarter increased 15.7% to $594.3 million, and same-store sales rose 3.6%.
For the full year, profit increased to $152.2 million, from $136.1 million in the prior fiscal year. Sales rose 11.5% to $2.26 billion from $2.02 billion. -
REI to open new store in Tysons area
McLean, Va. -- Recreational Equipment said that it will open a new REI store in the Tysons area of McLean, Va.
The 32,800-sq.-ft., two-story store is slated to open in August 2013.
“Tysons is the ultimate shopping hub in Northern Virginia,” said Ray Dinterman, REI retail director for the Mid-Atlantic district. “Our new store will join five other local REI stores and help us better outfit nearly 200,000 active members who paddle the Potomac and hike the Appalachian Trail."
