  • Cabela's names new head of credit card division

    SIDNEY, Neb. — Cabela's has named Sean Baker as president of World's Foremost Bank and will be appointed CEO effective Jan. 1, 2013. Baker will replace Joseph Friebe, whose planned retirement was announced in June.

  • Clinton Group names high-profile board nominees for Wet Seal

    Foothill Ranch, Calif. -- As part of its push toward forcing Wet Seal to put itself up for sale, investor Clinton Group on Thursday named its own slate of board candidates to replace the existing members.

    Clinton’s candidates include former United Retail Group chief Raphael Benaroya, former chairman and CEO of Charming Shoppes Dorrit Bern, former Aeropostale co-CEO Mindy Meads, former Aeropostale COO John Mills, and investment banker Lynda Davey.

  • Axonify and Toys ‘R’ Us Canada team toward employee training

    Waterloo, Ontario -- Axonify Inc. said Thursday that Toys ”R” Us Canada has selected Axonify’s next generation eLearning platform to deliver training content to its employees.

    Axonify said it will assist Toys “R” Us Canada in integrating learning into the daily activities of its more than 5,000 associates, while providing a personalized experience that addresses a variety of generations, knowledge levels and learning styles.

  • Organic grocer 'Sprouts' new leadership

    PHOENIX — Sprouts Farmers Markets announced that Shon Boney, who has served as CEO since the company's founding in 2002, will assume the role of chairman of the board of Sprouts. Long-time Sprouts president Doug Sanders will become president and CEO, whereby he will continue to be responsible for all day-to-day aspects of running the business.

    According to the company, Boney is taking on the chairman role in order to spend more time with his family in Sand Diego.

  • Sprouts names new CEO

    Phoenix -- Sprouts Farmers Markets said Thursday that current CEO Shon Boney will move into the role of chairman, and that current president Doug Sanders will take the reins of the organic grocery chain as president and CEO.

    Sanders joined Sprouts in 2002 when the company had only one store. He became president in 2005 after serving in various roles including CIO and COO.
     

  • Former president of Bebe named executive VP Aeropostale brand

    New York -- Aeropostale announced that Emilia Fabricant will join the company as executive VP of the Aeropostale brand. She will be responsible for all aspects of design, merchandising and production for the brand.

    On Aug. 17, Fabricant resigned as president of Bebe Stores, Prior to then, she served as president and chief merchandising officer of Charlotte Russe.
     

  • Long-time fashion retail exec named EVP of Aeropostale

    NEW YORK — Aeropostale, a mall-based specialty retailer of casual and active apparel for young women and men, announced that Emilia Fabricant will be joining the company as EVP of the Aeropostale brand. Fabricant will be responsible for all aspects of design, merchandising and production for the brand, and will report to Thomas Johnson, CEO.

  • Neiman Marcus names human resource chief

    Dallas -- Neiman Marcus Group said Tuesday it has named Joseph Weber as senior VP and chief human resources officer, effective Sept. 4.

    Weber joins the retailer from Bank of America Corp., where he was most recently head of human resources EMEA, Latin America and Canada.
