  • Tucker Development is bringing ShopRite to Springfield Avenue Marketplace

    Newark, N.J. -- Tucker Development Corp. has signed a deal with Wakefern Food Corp. retail cooperative to bring a 67,000-sq.-ft. ShopRite grocery store to Springfield Avenue Marketplace in Newark, N.J.

    Wakefern is the merchandising and distribution arm for ShopRite stores.

    The new ShopRite will anchor the 125,000-sq.-ft. center set to break ground this fall. When complete, the center will serve approximately 280,000 Newark residents, 180,000 employees and 60,000 college students and faculty.

  • Marcus & Millichap promotes Douglas K. Mandel

    Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services has promoted Douglas K. Mandel to first VP investments. Mandel also serves as senior director of the firm’s National Office and Industrial Properties Group and director of the National Retail Group.

    In 2012, Mandel was the firm’s top office and industrial agent nationwide.

  • Jones Lang LaSalle adds talent in North Carolina

    Charlotte, N.C. -- Jones Lang LaSalle has signed industry veteran Stephanie Moore as VP in its Charlotte office. Moore will work with John Bemis, executive VP and retail lead for the southeast region.

    Moore comes to Jones Lang LaSalle from CBRE, where she represented landlords such as Equity One, Tishman Speyer, Behringer Harvard and Grosvenor in acquisitions and dispositions. She also conducted nationwide searches for Max Mara, GAP, Godiva and Hickey Freeman.

    The job board will serve as a fundamental part of NRF’s This Is Retail: Careers, Community, Innovation campaign, launched in April.

  • Phillips Edison-ARC names CFO

    Cincinnati -- Devin I. Murphy has joined Phillips Edison-ARC Shopping Center REIT Inc. (www.phillipsedison-arc.com) as CFO, treasurer and secretary.

    “With over 25 years of experience in the real estate investment industry, including executive leadership positions with Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Devin brings significant experience to the company,” said Jeffrey Edison, co-chairman of the board and CEO.

  • CST Brands fuels board with Saks exec

    SAN ANTONIO — CST Brands, the parent company of Corner Store and Dépanneur du Coin, has appointed Denise Incandela, EVP and CMO at Saks Fifth Avenue, to its board. She becomes the tenth member of a board chaired by CST president and CEO Kim Bowers. 

    At Saks, Incandela oversees Saks Direct and Saks Fifth Avenue’s marketing programs, including advertising, sales promotions, loyalty, digital marketing, social media, customer analytics and market research.
