  • NAI MLG Commercial names Schmoldt VP

    Milwaukee — NAI MLG Commercial has promoted Kevin Schmoldt to VP. Schmoldt joined the company in 2007 as an intern while studying at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. After becoming a broker associate in May of 2009, he worked with landlords, tenants and investors.

    The Wisconsin representative for NAI Global, NAI MLG Commercial is a privately owned commercial real estate company offering a full range of brokerage and property management services.

     

  • President and CEO of Susser Holdings’ retail division to leave company

    Corpus Christi, Texas - Steve DeSutter, president and CEO of Susser Holdings’ retail segment, is leaving the company, effective Feb. 28, 2014, to accept an opportunity to lead a significant company outside the convenience store industry. That segment will now report directly to Sam L. Susser, chairman and CEO of Susser Holdings, on an interim basis.

  • RILA: Raise threshold of full-time status under ACA

    Arlington, Va. -- The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) is encouraged by passage of the Save American Workers Act of 2013 (H.R. 2575) out of the Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday. According to RILA, the act is an important first step in changing the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) definition of full-time employees from 30 hours of service to a definition more in-line with employment practices.

  • Former Dollar Financial exec to lead Sears auto business unit

    Sears Holdings has named Norman Miller as SVP and president, automotive. Miller most recently served as president and COO of Dollar Financial Corp. In his new role with Sears Holdings, he will be responsible for the company's automotive business, including Sears Auto Centers.

  • Executive changes at Vera Bradley

    Vera Bradley has restructured its executive team and promoted key figures, effective immediately.

    "We have a lot of talent and experience within our company, and these promotions and realignments will help position us for the future. I am confident that we are in the process of assembling the right team to achieve our long-term goals, drawing from both our own leadership team and attracting new talent to the organization," said CEO Robert Wallstrom.

  • WinCo to make debut in Texas

    WinCo Foods plans to open its first discount supermarkets in Texas at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. The 95,000-sq.-ft. stores will feature the company’s newest décor which highlights its project offering.

    The Ft. Worth store, located at 8000 Crowley Lane, will initially employ approximately 180 individuals, 170 of whom are local hires, and the McKinney store, located at 1800 N. Graves St., will open with approximately 170 employees, 160 of whom are local hires.

  • Hhgregg CFO Jeremy J. Aguilar lands at Sports Authority

    Sports Authority has named Jeremy J. Aguilar as CFO. Aguilar was most recently at Hhgregg, where he has been CFO since 2009.

    “Jeremy’s expertise in finance and accounting will play a critical role in further strengthening Sports Authority,” said CEO Michael E. Foss. “He will be a valuable asset to the team; we are thrilled to have him on board.”

  • Krispy Kreme appoints Cold Stone exec as president, international

    Winston-Salem, N.C. - Dan Beem will be joining Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. as senior VP of the company and president international later in February 2014. Beem, 44, will report to president and CEO Jim Morgan, and will be responsible for the company's international franchise business segment.
