  • Walgreens adds JANA Partners managing partner to board

    Walgreens has appointed Barry Rosenstein, managing partner JANA Partners, and a second new director to be named to its board of directors as the company continues moving forward to complete its merger with Alliance Boots.
     

  • The Children’s Place names group VP, finance

    Secaucus, N.J. -- The Children's Place announced the appointment of Robert Vill as group VP, finance, effective Sept. 8. He will report to Michael Scarpa, COO and CFO.

  • The Children's Place taps former Kate Spade exec as group VP, finance

    The Children's Place has appointed Robert Vill as group VP of finance. He will report to Michael Scarpa, chief operating officer and CFO.

    "Bob brings to The Children's Place a wealth of financial expertise in the areas of corporate finance, treasury and investor relations," Scarpa said. "I am very pleased to welcome him to our team."

  • Kroger to hire 20,000 permanent workers

    Cincinnati - The Kroger Co. is hiring to fill an estimated 20,000 permanent positions in its supermarket divisions. The company has created more than 40,000 permanent new jobs in the past six years, not including the 25,000 employees who joined as a result of the Harris-Teeter acquisition.

    "Kroger's growth trajectory creates more job opportunities for current and future employees," said Katy Barclay, Kroger's senior VP of human resources.

     

  • Divaris appoints two agents in Virginia Beach office

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Divaris Real Estate, Inc., announced the appointment of Elizabeth Greer and Joseph Lowery as agents in its headquarters location in Virginia Beach.

    Elizabeth Greer is a sales and leasing associate, responsible for office leasing services, including tenant and landlord representation. She is also involved with the redevelopment project of Fort Monroe, located in Hampton, Virginia.

  • Nine West Footwear reorganizes; CEO out

    New York -- Sycamore Partners announced that it has reorganized its Nine West Footwear Group into four separate businesses, each with its own leadership team. The top leadership has changed as well, as the company announced Nine West Footwear Group CEO Kathy Nedorostek has stepped down. She will be replaced in the interim by Andrew Hede, a turnaround specialist and managing director with Alvarez & Marsal in New York.

  • Body Central enacts reverse stock split

    Jacksonville, Fla. - Body Central Corp. is enacting a one-for-10 reverse stock split of its common stock. Each 10 shares of common stock will be converted into one share of common stock.

    The number of outstanding common shares will be reduced from approximately 17.2 million to approximately 1.72 million. The number of authorized shares and the par value per share will remain unchanged.
