  • SRS Real Estate Partners July transactions

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners (SRS) announces highlights of August transactions and new assignments.

    Atlanta:
    Shoe Carnival has executed a new lease for an 11,542-sq.-ft. space at Heritage Pavilion in Smyrna, Ga. The new location is expected to open in October 2013. SRS represented the tenant in this transaction. Developers Diversified Realty represented the landlord.

  • Mid-America’s Panovich honored for Lifetime Industry Leadership

    Chicago — C. Michelle Panovich, principal and executive VP, Mid-America Asset Management will receive the Lifetime Industry Leadership Award at the 12th annual Real Estate Gala hosted by the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate at Roosevelt University. The event will take place on Nov. 7.

    Christopher G. Kennedy, chairman of Joseph P. Kennedy Enterprises, will keynote the event, which draws more than 400 attendees annually and benefits Roosevelt’s real estate program.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts opens on Kansas Turnpike

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin’ Donuts continues its growth in non-traditional locations with the opening of two locations on the Kansas Turnpike with franchisee Rosenfield Restaurants. A third is scheduled to debut in October.

    “Bringing Dunkin' Donuts to service plazas around the country is just one great example of how our brand is taking successful elements of our traditional locations and translating them into alternative points of distribution,” said Grant Benson, VP of franchising and business development, Dunkin' Brands.

  • AutoZone adds new board members

    Brinker International chairman Doug Brooks and First Horizon National Corp. CEO Bryan Jordan were elected to the AutoZone board of directors.

    The addition of Brooks and Jordan give AutoZone a total of 11 board members. The company is due to report fourth quarter financial results on September 25.

  • Togo's opens Ripon, Calif., location

    Ripon, Calif. — Togo's Eateries has announced the opening of its first location in Ripon, Calif.

    The restaurant will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 5 at 11:30 a.m. In addition, a grand opening celebration has been planned for Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

    Togo's in Ripon will also offer online ordering and catering services for in-store pick up.

  • Chick-fil -A offers free cross-channel promotion

    Atlanta – Chick-fil-A is running a “Breakfast on Us” cross-channel promotion that offers a free breakfast entrée to customers who make an online reservation for any Chick-fil-A restaurant. Beginning Aug. 29, customers can visit Chick-fil-AForBreakfast.com to reserve a breakfast entree of choice, as well as a time to redeem their breakfast item at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant between Sept. 9 and Spt. 14.

  • H&M, Uncle Buck’s to anchor Destin Commons expansion

    Destin, Fla. — H&M and Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl & Grill will anchor a 100,000-sq.-ft. expansion of Destin Commons slated to open in mid-2014.

    Construction is underway on the 20,000-sq.-ft H&M store, the first H&M in northwest Florida.

    Uncle Buck’s, a concept by Bass Pro Shops, will offer casual dining and 16 lanes of bowling. Uncle Buck’s has also taken 20,000 sq. ft.

    The expansion will include about 20 additional stores and restaurants.

  • One more thing to worry about this Christmas

    As if competing against Target, Best Buy and Amazon.com isn’t challenging enough, nationwide the fast-food “strike” which took place Thursday offered a glimpse of the type of headline-grabbing, disruptive activities Walmart can expect from its opponents this holiday season.
