  • Smashburger to open first Jacksonville location at Seminole Shoppes

    Neptune Beach, Fla. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased restaurant space in Neptune Beach, Fla., at Seminole Shoppes to Smashburger.

    Smashburger has leased 2,100 sq. ft., bringing the center to 96% leased. The restaurant is slated to open for business in fall 2011 and is the first store location for the franchise chain in the Jacksonville area.

    The 78,240-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Publix Super Market.

  • Jones Lang LaSalle names retail exec

    Honolulu, Hawaii -- Jones Lang LaSalle announced Thursday it has named commercial real estate veteran Kirk Horiuchi as senior VP in its Retail Division.

    In this newly created position, Horiuchi will oversee the company’s leased and managed portfolio, and will be tasked with growing the firm’s third-party retail business in Hawaii.

  • Paradise Capital Group acquires Paraiso Town Center

    Thousand Oaks, Calif. -- Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Cardinal Equities, through its affiliate Paradise Capital Group, said it has acquired from U.S. Bank a 50,000-sq.-ft. retail and office complex in Dos Vientos Ranch, a master-planned community in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

    Paraiso Town Center, built in 2008 and foreclosed on by the construction lender in late 2009, includes 40,000 sq. ft. of ground-level retail and restaurant space with outdoor dining, and 10,000 sq. ft. of office space.

  • Chipotle to open at Elston Plaza

    Chicago -- Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based Mid-America Asset Management said that Chipotle Mexican Grill, along with Clearly Cares Dental, have recently signed leases at Elston Plaza in Chicago.

    Denver-based Chipotle Mexican Grill, which leased 2,405 sq. ft., plans to open a restaurant in third quarter 2011. Clearly Cares Dental signed a lease for 1,500 sq. ft. with plans to open this summer.

    Elston Plaza is a 91,713-sq.-ft. Jewel/Osco-anchored shopping center in northwest Chicago.
     

  • Karlin Real Estate acquires two Phoenix-area centers

    Phoenix -- Karlin Real Estate has acquired through foreclosure two Phoenix, AZ-area shopping centers totaling nearly 220,000 sq. ft., following the firm's purchase of a non performing loan portfolio with an aggregate unpaid principal of approximately $65.5 million.

    ROANOKE, Va. — Advance Auto Parts announced that Jim Durkin will join Autopart International as president.

  • Bass Pro Shops signs on for The Point, new mixed used development center in New Jersey

    King of Prussia, Pa. -- O’Neill Properties Group announced that Bass Pro Shops  has signed a letter of intent for a 200,000-sq.-ft. store at The Point, in Sayreville, N.J., one of the largest new mixed use developments in the United States.
