  • Cheesecake Factory to make state debut in Michigan

    Bloomfield Hills, Mich. -- Taubman Centers, owner of Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, Mich., said Friday that The Cheesecake Factory will make a Michigan debut with a new restaurant opening at Twelve Oaks.

    The 8,430-sq.-ft. Cheesecake Factory will open in latter 2013, and will feature French limestone floors, decorative columns, hand-painted murals and contemporary lighting.

    Twelve Oaks Mall is anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, J.C. Penney, Sears and the Lifestyle Café Food Court.
     

     

  • Red Robin to open at Plaza at Cherry Hill

    Cherry Hill, N.J. -- Conshohocken, Pa.-based Fameco Real Estate announced that Red Robin has signed a lease at the Plaza at Cherry Hill, Cherry Hill, N.J.

    The 6,000-sq.-ft. restaurant will join anchors LA Fitness, Raymour & Flanigan, Guitar Center, Sam Ash and Bottom Dollar at the 450,000-sq.-ft. power center.

     

  • Wendy’s embraces more modern look; 200 remodels planned for 2013

    Dublin, Ohio -- Wendy’s is getting a makeover. On Feb. 25, the company will unveil its new, more contemporary-looking logo in advertising, on product packaging, crew uniforms, new restaurant signage, menuboards and digital assets.  

    The updated logo is in sync with the company’s new “Image Activation” restaurant environment, whose bold, sleek, ultra-modern look is designed to enhance the customer experience. Features include lounge seating with fireplaces, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi and digital menuboards.

  • Which Wich to open at West 7th

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Cypress Equities announced that sandwich chain Which Wich will open at its West 7th mixed-use development in Fort Worth, Texas.

    The 1,394-sq.-ft. shop will be located between existing West 7th merchants, Sweet Tomatoes and Wink Threading Salon.

  • Aeropostale to open two concepts at South Bay Galleria

    South Bay, Calif. -- South Bay Galleria marketing manager Sherilyn Haddon announced that the Los Angeles County mall will add three new stores to its list of retailers, including Aeropostale and P.S. From Aeropostale.

    Tutti Frutti yogurt will also open at the mall.

    The P.S. From Aeropostale store will be directly connected to the new Aeropostale store; both are slated to open in May 2013. Tutti Frutti is expected to open at Center Court in March 2013.
     

  • Survey details impact of payroll tax changes on retail

    Washington, D.C. -- Nearly three-quarters (73.3%) of consumers say their spending plans are taking a hit due to the recent payroll tax changes, according to NRF’s 2013 Tax Returns Survey conducted by BIGinsight.
     
    When asked how the new federal tax laws have affected spending, saving or budgeting of their households, nearly six in 10 (58.2%) of those polled say their plans have been either somewhat or greatly impacted. Specifically, nearly half (45.7%) say they will spend less overall, and 35.6% will watch for sales more often.
     

  • Winick Realty named broker for Chipotle

    New York -- Winick Realty Group announced that it is exclusively representing Chipotle Mexican Grill in its leasing efforts throughout Northern New Jersey, Long Island and all five boroughs of New York City.

    The Winick team is seeking 1,600-sq.-ft. to 2,300-sq.-ft. sites in these markets. Since opening its first Manhattan location in 2003, Chipotle has grown to 60+ locations in New York City, Long Island and Northern New Jersey.

     

  • Red Mango to develop stores in Central America

    Dallas -- Red Mango said Wednesday it has secured an area development agreement to expand the yogurt chain to Central America.

    El Salvador-based Nutrisal will open its first store in San Salvador next month at Plaza Santa Elena. Total unit development plans were not announced.
