  • Kohl's renews partnership with Junior Achievement of Wis.

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s has renewed its partnership with Junior Achievement of Wisconsin and donated to the organization $1.5 million throughout a three-year period to support and expand the JA Kohl’s Education Center. 

  • Sport Chalet creates e-commerce portal toward high school teams

    Los Angeles -- Sport Chalet is using technology to reach out to high school teams and their fans. A new portal on the sporting goods and apparel retailer’s e-commerce site is specifically designed to allow the creation of team-focused online retail hubs. Schools can create their own logo design to brand each individual hub and also offer customized goods and shipping options, including direct shipment to customer homes as well as pick-up at a local Sport Chalet store or at the school. The portal is built on the KitOrder specialty team e-commerce platform.

    LOS ANGELES — Specialty sporting goods retailer Sport Chalet is positioning itself as a one-stop shop for school-based fan apparel, field gear and fundraising needs with new online order site and streamlined solution The Sport Chalet Team Site.

    Chaminade College Prep, Esperanza High School, Tesoro High School, Triton Touch Down Club and Torrey Pines High School are among early Team Site adopters.

  • Staples, BGCA recruit teen actor to help kids in need

    Staples and Boys & Girls Clubs of America have brought teen actor Jake T. Austin on board for the 6th annual Staples for Students national school supply drive.

    Austin will be featured in the campaign’s public service announcement, now available online and airing on television and radio stations starting next month.

  • Cargill CEO appointed to Deere board

    MOLINE, Ill. — Deere & Company has elected Cargill CEO Gregory R. Page to its board of directors. Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services. 

    Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the privately held company employs about 140,000 people in 65 countries and has annual sales of more than $130 billion.

  • Registration open for Kids In Need gala

    The Kids In Need Foundation will hold its 15th annual Kids In Need Foundation Education Celebration Gala Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Depot, in Minneapolis, Minn. 

    A cocktail reception, sponsored by Target, will kick things off at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Gala Dinner, sponsored by 3M, at 7:30 p.m. 

  • Pottery Barn Kids, PBS Kids, court bookworms

    SAN FRANCISCO — Pottery Barn Kids, part of Williams-Sonoma’s brands portfolio, has launched its Summer Reading Challenge in partnership with PBS Kids. 

    The challenge, which runs through August 26, is designed to promote a love of learning and literacy in kids and their families throughout the summer months. It also draws foot traffic into its brick and mortar stores, and is an exercise in brand awareness, as young children will recognize the brand and associate it with the reading challenge, making them potential future customers. 

  • Office Depot, One Direction launch anti-bullying campaign

    BOCA RATON, Fla. — Office Depot has joined forces with boy band One Direction to raise money for an anti-bullying education program. The anti-bullying campaign is set to launch across the United States during the 2013 back-to-school season.
