Lowe's to open first new Kentucky store since 2009
Lowe's Companies is opening its first new store in Kentucky in more than 15 years.
The home improvement retailer will open a new location in Walton, Ky., part of the Cincinnati, Ohio, metropolitan area. The store will feature roughly 95,000 sq. ft. of retail space, along with 30,000 sq. ft. of outdoor garden space. It will be Lowe’s Companies' 43rd Kentucky store, and the first to open in the state since 2009.
The Walton store includes all of Lowe’s latest in-store updates, according to the company, blending physical showrooms with online features. It will be among the first Lowe’s stores to debut a redesigned tool section with a simplified open layout, wider aisles and lower fixture heights that create better sight lines for both customers and associates.
Standard in all new stores, Lowe’s of Walton has a redesigned kitchen showroom with features including centralized selling desks for installation and services projects, with larger signage showcasing promotional offerings; a larger selection of luxury appliances and kitchen products to support remodels; larger, more interactive product displays; and QR codes providing customers easy access to explore online offerings.
The new store will also have buy online, pick up in-store zones with self-service lockers for quick, seamless pickup.

“I have lived in this area my entire life, and I’m so excited to continue my Lowe’s career here in Walton,” said Travis Caldwell, store manager of the new location and a 28-year company veteran. “We want to be great neighbors and the place people know they can turn to when they need help with a project.”
Lowe’s hiring for more than 100 full and part-time positions at the newest Kentucky store.
Based in Mooresville, N.C., Lowe's Companies Inc. operates more than 1,750 home improvement stores, 540 branches and 120 distribution centers.
