Little Caesars heats up online delivery options

A pizza chain keeps digital orders fresh.

Little Caesars is offering several features to help ensure that digital orders are prepared as close to pickup or delivery time as possible, and also stay hot until consumers receive them. The fast-food retailer provides an in-store heated, self-service mobile order pick-up station called the Pizza Portal, which keeps orders hot and secure until pick-up.

Customers use the Little Caesars app or website to order ahead, pre-pay, and then choose pick-up or delivery. For delivery orders, the app notifies the driver when the order is ready. Then the driver bypasses the store counter collects the order using Pizza Portal pickup, and delivers to the customer. Customers can GPS track their order from store to door. POS systems are completely integrated with the app to enable drivers equipped with hot bags to pick up orders within minutes of being ready.

Little Caesars delivery service is available only on its app and website, and powered through DoorDash Drive as the exclusive last-mile delivery partner. Several other fast-food and casual dining retailers, including Luby’s, Applebees, and Potbelly Sandwich Shop, have launched delivery partnerships with DoorDash in recent months.

"Our delivery service is available directly on the Little Caesars app and website meaning now customers can satisfy their crazy bread craving while staying on our app and in their lounge clothes," said Ed Gleich, chief innovation officer for Little Caesars. "So, continue your binge watching, Little Caesars fans!"

Little Caesars operates stores in each of the 50 U.S. states and 26 countries and territories.
