A specialty lighting retailer is providing free online lighting design services.
Lamps Plus is enabling customers to get expert advice on lighting without having to leave their homes or require a visit with social distancing. Customers can schedule an appointment and later receive a one-to-one custom expert lighting consultation through phone or text.
Store area customers are automatically routed to a local store employee. Other requests nationwide are handled by the Lamps Plus San Francisco/Bay Area store team. Lamps Plus is prominently featuring this remote service on its home page during the pandemic, and will continue offering the service as a prioritized option in the future.
In addition to obtaining personal design solutions for their homes from certified lighting experts and chatting or sending photos via text, customers can use website features like “View in Room,” which allows them to place products within a photo for more ideas with direction from their expert. Orders ship same-day if placed before 2 p.m. PT.
“Direct custom expert lighting design advice can really make customers’ homes more comfortable,” said Dennis Swanson, founder and CEO, Lamps Plus. “With our stores temporarily closed, we are able to still use our store employees to assist customers. In the past few weeks, we’ve seen great results from this service and we expect it to continue to grow.”
California-based Lamps Plus operates 36 brick-and-mortar stores in seven western states.
