Läderach opening more U.S. stores

The largest chocolate retailer in Switzerland  is expanding in the United States and Canada in time for Valentine’s Day.

Läderach Chocolatier Suisse will open four  stores during the next few weeks, including locations at Westfield Topanga & The Village, Canoga Park, Calif.;  Town Center at Boca Raton, Boca Raton, Fla.; and  Westfield Valley Fair, Santa Clara, Calif. It will open at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, in Toronto.

Läderach entered North America in late 2019, with initial openings in New York City and Toronto. In Febraury 2021, it signed an asset purchase agreement https://chainstoreage.com/swiss-chocolatier-assume-leases-34-us-godiva-stores to take over the leases more than 34 Godiva U.S. locations. The agreement includes the four new locations, which will give Läderach  37 stores in North America.   The company said it will continue its retail expansion in North America with the announcement of new store locations through March 2022.

Läderach stores boast more than 85 varieties of fresh, artisanal chocolate direct from Switzerland. The space includes a dedicated counter at the front (behind clear glass) featuring multiple large slabs of different chocolate barks that can be hand-broken for gift-giving or for everyday.

Operating since 1962, Läderach operates more than 100 stores globally.  It is the largest chocolate retailer in Switzerland with approximately 1,300-plus employees representing more than 50 nationalities.
