Joann has made a series of leadership appointments months after it emerged from bankruptcy.

The fabrics and crafts retailer said that senior VP and CFO Scott Sekella has departed the business and is pursuing other opportunities. Sekella, who joined Joann in September 2022 after serving six years at Under Armour, oversaw the company's recent bankruptcy and restructuring. His departure is not related to disagreements with Joann over financial statements or accounting policies or practices, the company stated.

Jeff Dwyer, managing director, Alvarez & Marsal, will act as interim CFO while Joann searches for a new CFO. In June, the retailer named Alvarez & Marsal managing director Michael Prendergast as interim CEO.

Joann’s other leadership appointments are below.

•John Stalcup has been promoted to executive VP, chief digital officer. In addition to his previous responsibilities leading all IT functions, he will now oversee the data science teams as well as the e-commerce organization. Stalcup joined Joann in 2022.
