Newnan, Ga, 40 miles southwest of Atlanta, registered 16,000 residents in the 2000 Census.

Ten years later, that number doubled to 33,000 and it will exceed 40,000 when this year’s count is done. It’s no wonder Newnan calls itself the City of Homes. It’s needed lots more of them in recent years.

That calls for more and better shopping venues, as well, and Inventrust Properties is undertaking a renovation of Thomas Crossroads in Newnan. The façade of the 105,000-sq.-ft., Kroger anchored center is getting a complete overhaul that includes upgrading its columns and outfitting the under-canopies with LED lighting.

“The Thomas Crossroads shopping center is located in a highly visible, well-established market with strong demographics and a desirable tenant mix that serves the community well,” said InvenTrust COO Ivy Greaner. “The center was last renovated in 2008, and InvenTrust acquired the property in 2009, so the time is right to make this investment.”

Construction commenced October 7 and is slated for completion by the end of November. Other tenants at Thomas Crossroads include Great Clips, Farmers Insurance, Pizza Hut, Subway, and McDonald’s.
