Instacart is partnering with New York’s largest health system.

The grocery technology company’s Instacart Health initiative designed to promote access to healthy grocery and produce items is teaming up with Northwell Health. Through the partnership, Northwell will use Instacart Health tools to support programs that address issues of its members, including access to healthy food and transportation.

The first program from the partnership integrates Instacart Health tools into Northwell’s Center for Maternal Health Maternal Outcomes and Morbidity Collaborative (MOMS) in an effort to provide moms-to-be who are food insecure with improved access to fresh and nutritious food.

Using Instacart Health Fresh Funds grocery stipends, category-specific online grocery stipends, and Northwell’s Healthy Choices Storefront on Instacart, Northwell is attempting to provide moms-to-be with nutrition guidance and support during their pregnancies, with particular focused on addressing maternal health in Black and Brown communities.
