Ikea plots 10 new stores for 2026 — here's where
Ikea U.S. has added new locations to its list of planned openings for 2026.
The home furnishings giant will open four additional stores this year, bringing the total of new stores slated for 2026 to 10. (See end of article for locations.)
In its 2025 fiscal year (Sept. 1, 2024 to Aug. 31, 2025), Ikea opened 14 new U.S. locations, including two new small-format stores in Arcadia, Calif., and San Marcos, Texas. In addition, nine stores featuring the chain's "Plan & Order Points" with integrated pickup services format were launched in key markets such as Charlotte, N.C.; Roseville, Minn., and Ontario and Colma, Calif.
The expansion plans come on the heels of a strong year for the retailer. Ikea U.S. reported $5.3 billion in total sales, including $1.9 billion in e-commerce, in its 2025 fiscal year. The company says it welcomed nearly 61 million visitors to its stores and over 457 million visitors online. The Ikea Family Rewards program reached a milestone of 25 million members, a 17% increase year over year.
“Fiscal year 2025 was a year of meaningful connection and growth despite a challenging external environment,” said Rob Olson, interim CEO of Ikea U.S. “We strengthened our ability to serve customers through new store formats, digital innovation and expanded rewards, all while reinforcing our commitment to communities and the environment. Looking ahead to fiscal year 2026, we will build on this momentum, focusing on continued investment in the U.S. to make Ikea more affordable, accessible and sustainable.”
The newly-announced Ikea locations include:
•Culver City (first city-center Ikea in Los Angeles);
•Tulsa (first Ikea in Oklahoma);
•Gurnee Mills, Gurnee, Ill.; and
•Fort Collins, Colo.
The six other previously announced 2026 store locations include:
•Huntsville, Ala.;
•University Park and Rockwall, Dallas;
•Phoenix;
•Chantilly, Va.; and
•Webster, Texas.
