Hudson’s Bay takes holiday shoppers up ‘Schitt’s Creek’
A Canadian department store giant is partnering with stars of the hit sitcom “Schitt’s Creek” in a new omnichannel holiday promotion.
Hudson’s Bay is launching its 2020 holiday campaign, “A Call to Joy,” with 15-, 30-, and 60-second advertising spots featuring “Schitt's Creek” actors Catherine O'Hara and Annie Murphy. The ads are viewable on all digital Hudson's Bay platforms and during primetime television.
In addition, Hudson’s Bay is offering its first-ever digital “Holiday Hub,” which showcases inspirational shopping content with an immersive mobile and desktop experience. Holiday Hub includes the interactive A Call to Joy Holiday Gift Guide, a YouTube video, “The Gifting Guru,” featuring O’Hara’s and Murphy’s curated top gift picks.
"We know that Canadians need some optimism and joy as we head into the holiday season," says Meghan Nameth, chief marketing officer, Hudson's Bay. "We took the time to understand the customer mindset - what they are prioritizing, what they are craving, and what matters most to them. Our hope is that having two Canadian fan favorites deliver some lighthearted humor, paired with the nostalgia of our windows and meaningful gift ideas will help to make this holiday season shine brighter."
Hudson’s Bay holiday shoppers can also engage in live chat on the retailer’s e-commerce site, pick up online purchases curbside within three hours of placing an orders, and use the Hudson’s Bay app as an in-store barcode scanner to obtain additional product information and ship items directly to home. In addition, virtual or in-person meetings with personal shoppers are available free of charge and beginning Nov. 24, online customers can pay for purchases in four interest-free installments via the PayBright solution.
Hudson's Bay operates 89 stores across Canada and an e-commerce site. It is part of the HBC brand portfolio, which also includes Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks Off 5th.
