Hudson’s Bay is celebrating the holidays in-store and online.
A leading Canadian department store retailer is unveiling a comprehensive omnichannel holiday promotional campaign.
Hudson’s Bay Co. is launching a 2021 holiday promotion across both its Hudson’s Bay brick-and-mortar store fleet and The Bay, its e-commerce business which was spun off into a separate entity in August 2021. At the time, Hudson’s Bay Co. said the two businesses will work closely together to deliver a seamless customer experience while making strategic investments in their respective growth plans.
Hudson’s Bay “Holiday Your Way” windows launched across Canada Friday, Nov. 5, in addition to animatronic windows at the Hudson’s Bay Queen Street flagship in Toronto. Window displays include a “snow-making department, featuring photos in adult and kid-sized cutouts on the exterior of the windows; a “candy cane department” that shows how candy canes and made and packaged with a robotic arm; a “gifting department that shows parcels being wrapped, sorted and packed by robots, and allows onlookers to press a button on the glass and have a robot give them a high-five and take a selfie; and an “ornament-making department” with a giant mechanical hand-selecting each color to be applied to ornaments, and a “mailroom department” with giant computer spitting out a list of names while a map of the globe gives Santa directions to find all the boys and girls around the world.
“Visiting the iconic windows at Hudson’s Bay is an annual tradition that brings joy and nostalgia to both the city and to visitors,” said Denis Frenette, senior VP merchandise presentation at Hudson’s Bay. “We continue to deliver this favorite pastime and are thrilled to create joy with our ‘Holiday Your Way’ windows in cities across the country.”
Meanwhile, e-commerce platform The Bay is introducing an interactive digital experience on TikTok across Canada. The “Holiday Your Way” social promotion enables customers to scan a stripes-branded TikTok code featured on TheBay’s site and create personalized holiday content for display on TikTok. Participants will also have the chance to be featured in Hudson’s Bay’s windows at its flagship store in Toronto, which will feature new TikTok content bi-weekly.
In addition, every video uploaded through December 18, 2021, will be entered to win a grand prize $1,000 gift card to shop in-store and on TheBay.com. To participate, customers can scan the unique TikCode at any Hudson’s Bay store across Canada, on TheBay.com, or through The Bay’s social media channels.

Hudson’s Bay operates 86 stores across Canada.
