Hudson opens new store concept powered by Amazon technology

Travel retailer Hudson has opened the doors to its new contactless shopping format, Hudson Nonstop.

Located post-security at Dallas Love Field Airport, (near Gate 10), the 500-sq.-ft. store, which has a single point of entry and exit, utilizes Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” platform. Customers enter with a swipe of their credit card or using “Tap to Pay,” select the items they are looking for and then walk out. After they leave, customers are charged for the items they walked out of the store with.

Hudson’s iconic brand style is reflected throughout the store’s sleek design and expansive product offering, which includes grab & go food, beverages and snacks as well as electronics and personal protective equipment. It also includes a selection of Texas-themed merchandise. The space is designed for one-way traffic and eliminates checkout-line friction to manage crowd control.

Hudson plans to expand Hudson Nonstop to additional leading airports across North America in 2021.

“Hudson Nonstop represents a new way of retailing that emulates an end-to-end digital shopping experience which we believe is the future of retail, even after COVID-19 – we look forward to serving travelers in this exciting new store concept for years to come,” said Brian Quinn, executive VP and COO of Hudson.

Hudson operates more than 1,000 stores in airports, commuter hubs, landmarks and tourist destinations across North America.
