Herschel Supply has opened its second store in New York City, a flagship in SoHo.

The new store is in keeping with Herschel Supply's expansion strategy to operate more than 13 retail locations by the end of 2023, with a focus on key cities in the U.S. and Canada. (The 13th store will open on Aug. 20, in Santa Monica, Calif.)  Best known for its popular backpacks, the Vancouver-base brand was founded online in 2009. It opened its first store in the U.S., in New York City’s Union Square neighborhood, in late 2022. (See list of all locations at end of article.)

The 4,200-sq.-ft. SoHo store, which follows the opening of a store in  boasts a dual entrance that stretches from Broadway through to Mercer Street. It features an immersive shopping experience that pays homage to the brand's Pacific Northwest roots in Vancouver (British Columbia), enhanced by custom-designed cedar sculptures crafted in Vancouver and art from Herschel’s director of photography, Steve Wilde.

The store’s concrete floors and exposed brick walls have been stripped of a century's worth of flooring, paint and wall coverings to reveal their original form, a reminder to customers that they are in the heart of New York City

Herschel’s lineup has expanded over the years to include travel baggage and accessories, hat, wallets and a newly-launched apparel line dubbed Herschel Supply Uniform.   The SoHo store brings together the largest assortment of the brand’s core product line. It also features an elevated line from the brand’s in-house design studio, available exclusively at the SoHo store, as well as Herschel’s apparel line and hardshell luggage collection.

Herschel Supply was founded by brothers Lyndon and Jamie Cormack, who named it after the small Canadian town where they grew up.
