H Mart plans largest California store yet
A leading Asian grocery chain is planning on going big in the Bay Area.
H Mart is planning to open its California largest store yet at Pacific Commons Shopping Center in Fremont, located on the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay. The store will span two levels and more than 100,000 sq. ft. Features will include a food hall and dine-in restaurants, in addition to the chain’s expansive Asian grocery offerings.
The planned store represents the largest investment in H Mart’s history, and its first store in Fremont. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026.

Pacific Commons Shopping Center, owned by Heitman and managed by Phoenix-based Vestar, is home to more than 55 retailers and restaurants including Target, Costco, T.J. Maxx, Nordstrom Rack and Sephora. The property spans more than 1.1. million sq. ft.

Founded in 1982, H Mart operates over 100 locations across 18 states.
