Giant Eagle holds vaccination clinic at Rolling Stones concert

Giant Eagle offered a free vaccination clinic prior to the Rolling Stones concert in Pittsburgh.

The Rolling Stones offered fans a little something extra before their concert on Oct. 4 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

Giant Eagle partnered with The Rolling Stones and Heinz Field management to hold a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic for attendees prior to the concert. The clinic opened at 5:30 p.m. — the same time the gates opened — and ran until 7:30 p.m.

The clinic offered first doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, with appointments given for the second shot at a Giant Eagle.   Also available were booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine for those who met eligibility guidelines under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Giant Eagle and Heinz Field also partnered a few weeks ago to host a vaccine clinic for NFL fans before a preseason Pittsburgh Steelers football game.  Giant Eagle operates more than 470 stores throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, northern West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.

This was not the first time that a vaccination clinic was set up during the Rolling Stores’ current No Filter tour. According to a report by NPR, vaccinations were offered prior to the Stones concert Sept. 26 in St. Louis. Additional ones are reportedly planned for other cities.
