The Fresh Market adds stores in Maryland, Chicago
North Carolina-based grocery chain The Fresh Market has expanded its store count in two states.
The specialty fresh food retailer has opened its 162nd and 163th stores with new locations in the Maryland suburb of Crofton, and Lincoln Park, a neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side.
The 27,000-sq.-ft. store in Crofton features fresh produce, premium meats, seafood, bakery items, and both globally- and locally-sourced products. It also offers ready-to-eat options including in-house smoked pit barbeque, hot and fresh pizzas, and a selection of salad, olive and soup bars.
"As we continue to expand our presence on the East Coast, opening our Crofton location represents a significant milestone in our growth strategy,” said Jason Potter, CEO of The Fresh Market. “Our goal is to provide the community with access to the highest quality fresh foods and a shopping experience that is delicious, convenient and enjoyable. In Lincoln Park, The Fresh Market has opened a slimmed-down store at 17,000 sq. ft. while offering enhanced ready-to-eat options. The store’s offerings include smashburgers and New York-style hot dogs, pizza, hummus bowls, and salad, olive and soup bars. The Lincoln Park store also features a full-service bar offering a distinctive menu of creative coffee drinks and unique cocktails, and a fresh grab & go breakfast and pastry options in the coffee area in addition to a bakery.

The Fresh Market operates 163 stores in 22 states.
