Freddy’s has set a goal of more than 800 sites by 2026.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers continues to expand in traditional and non-traditional locations.
So far in 2023, the quick-service restaurant chain has added more than 70 new development commitments to its pipeline through several franchise development agreements. Freddy’s expects to open more than 60 new locations across the country this year, moving closer to its goal of more than 800 sites by 2026.
The company is expanding in both traditional and non-traditional locations. In 2021, it opened its first airport location, at Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport, and second casino location, at Table Mountain Casino in Friant, Calif.
Earlier this year, Freddy’s opened its first restaurant within a major league baseball stadium, at the St. Louis Cardinals' Busch Stadium. It also announced its expansion into Canada, with plans to open new restaurants across nine of the country's provinces during the next several years.
“Reaching 500 locations was made possible first and foremost through the commitment of our passionate franchise partners, which we believe are the best group of franchisees in the country,” said Chris Dull, president and CEO, Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.
In April, Freddy’s unveiled a new restaurant prototype at its corporate-owned location in Belleville, Ill. The format features a standard drive-thru and an enhanced mobile pick-up window to meet the increased consumer demand for off-premise dining.
“With nearly 70% of sales being consumed off-premise, our team has been focused on developing restaurant prototypes that cater to this preferred method of dining by increasing convenience and ease of use for our guests," said Chris Dull, CEO of Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. "The new prototype design opening in Belleville increases the convenience our guests seek by optimizing off-premise channels and not sacrificing the speed and quality that has maintained loyalty to our brand with over 20 years of history."
Founded in Wichita, Kan., in 2002, Freddy’s features cooked-to-order steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, shoestring fries and other savory items along with freshly churned frozen custard treats.
