Four retailers among top 50 companies for diversity in new ranking

Walmart was recognized as one of the top companies for diversity.

Two discounters and two pharmacy chains are tops when it comes to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) commitments.

That’s according to DiversityInc.’s annual ranking of the top 50 corporate employers for diversity, equity and inclusion.  Walmart was No. 26 on the list, followed by Target (No. 27), CVS Health (No. 28)) and Walgreens (No. 40). Accenture took the top spot. The ranking is derived exclusively from corporate survey submissions from U.S., companies with at least 750 employees.

DiversityInc. noted that, since 2001, its Top 50 survey has sought to be the most comprehensive, empirically data-driven DEI analysis based on organization-submitted information from some of the largest U.S. employers. The assessment collects data across six key areas: Leadership Accountability, Human Capital Diversity Metrics, Talent Programs, Workplace Practices, Supplier Diversity and Philanthropy.
