Former VF exec joins Genesco C-suite

Sandra Harris is joining Genesco Inc.'s C-suite.

Genesco Inc. has announced a change to its C-suite.

The parent company of Journeys and other footwear brands has appointed Cassandra “Sandra” Harris as senior VP of finance and CFO, effective Oct. 7. She will succeed Thomas A. George, whose planned retirement will take effect on Dec. 12.

Harris joins Genesco with an extensive background of CFO and finance leadership roles in retail and consumer brands companies, including at VF Corp. She most recently served as CFO for Artisan Design Group, a leading nationwide provider of design and installation services for interior finishes. Prior to that she was the CFO and COO of Tupperware Brands (from 2019 to 2022). 

Harris spent nearly 10 years at VF Corp., from 2008 to 2017, where she was responsible for driving global business and financial strategies across VF’s brands, which include The North Face and Timberland. Harris’ experience with VF includes retail, finance, supply chain and information technology leadership, including serving as CFO for direct to consumer, global supply chain and shared services.

Harris will report directly to Mimi E. Vaughn, Genesco’s board chair, president and CEO, and will oversee Genesco’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, treasury, procurement and tax functions. During the transitional period, George will continue as Genesco’s principal accounting officer.

Based in Nashville, Genesco Inc. operates approximately 1,314 retail stores and branded e-commerce websites through its Journeys, Little Burgundy, Schuh and Johnston & Murphy brands.
