The retail real estate owner and operator has announced that Greg Maloney will join the company as chief strategy officer to facilitate its “next phase of growth.” Working together with Jane Walker, senior VP of project management and client services, Maloney will help build upon Centennial’s growing portfolio of partnership investment opportunities as well as its third-party management business.

Maloney previously served as president and CEO of JLL's retail division from 2002 to 2023, where he oversaw all aspects of the firm’s Americas Retail business, providing management, leasing, marketing, development, tenant representation and strategic consulting services to JLL clients. Earlier, while managing the company’s retail operations, Maloney’s focus was on facilitating key acquisitions.

“We are honored that Greg identified Centennial as the right company to support for its continued growth and expansion,” said Paul J. Kurzawa, president of Centennial. “We look forward to working with Greg and, through his industry-wide relationships, to building new connections and partnerships that will create ‘owner-centric’ value lift opportunities for real estate owners and investor clients who are looking for an alternative to traditional institutional third-party service providers.”

Over the past 22 years, Maloney has directed more than 15 JLL acquisitions, including Shelter Bay, Starwood Retail, Ivanhoe Cambridge, and Poag Real Estate. Maloney also led JLL’s receivership practice for all asset types, and over the past 25 years, he has acted as receiver for more than 175 properties throughout the U.S.

“Greg will also play a critical role in working cooperatively with Lincoln Property Company to unlock new growth opportunities,” said Steven Levin, founder and CEO of Centennial. “Lincoln’s investment in Centennial has provided the capital and backing to pursue large-format, retail-centric acquisitions that could benefit from Centennial’s unique vision and mixed-use approach, something we believe Greg will be instrumental in facilitating.”

Lincoln, a global full-service real estate firm, made a strategic investment in the operating business of Centennial in August 2024, providing capital and other resources to accelerate Centennial’s national expansion.

Centennial also announced that Karen Raquet will join Maloney in support of his efforts as the firm’s new client relationship manager. Most recently, she served as the executive VP and director of property management for JLL. In her new position, Raquet will expand the “well-established” foundation of Centennial’s third-party business and onboard new clients, coordinating materials, technologies and uninterrupted service across all new lines of business.

Centennial operates 23 million sq. ft. of mixed-use shopping center destinations in 18 states.
