Raising Cane's newest Boston location is its 828th store.

One of the country's fastest-growing quick-service restaurant brands is celebrating its 28th birthday with a one-of-a-kind location.

Raising Cane’s, best known for its chicken finger meals, celebrated 28 years in business on Aug. 28 with the opening of its 828th restaurant. Located in downtown Boston, the outpost boasts a gold theme, with gold walls, floors and seating as well as kiosks. Even the brand's signature disco balls that hang from the ceiling are gold.  It is one of 100 new restaurants  Cane's plans to open before the year ends.

The grand opening event and birthday celebration featured Cane’s owner and founder Todd Graves cutting the ribbon, along with a slew of customer giveaways including free Cane's for a year for 28 lucky fans in line, a golden birthday cake made by Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, and 828 giveaways – worth more than $100K – available through www.RaisingCanesBirthday.com.

To help celebrate in Boston, Cane’s enlisted star athletes including former Red Sox hitter David "Big Papi" Ortiz and current Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday, along with Rhode Island-based musician JVKE to make appearances. The chain said that all three have "gold" in common between MLB Championship trophies, NBA Championship trophies, Olympic medals, and a hit single called "Golden Hour".

The new golden Boston store isn’t the first time the Louisiana-based chain has thought outside of the box with its store design and decoration. Earlier this summer, Cane’s opened a two-level flagship restaurant on Nashville’s iconic Broadway street, complete with local art and country memorabilia. In 2023, Cane’s entered New York City with a flashy store in Times Square.

Founded in 1996, Cane’s operates 828 stores in more than 40 U.S. states.
